I thought it might be of interest to the rest of you and wonder if you have any comments on Capt. Edgar Mitchell's observations here?

Awesome video, thanks for sharing it. I'm not sure Samadhi is quite the correct term for his experience, but then again I've never went to space so I could be wrong, just basing that assessment on his description.

I agree placing our leaders on a shuttle to go to space would be a great idea in order to broaden their horizons, unfortunately we place such importance upon them they would never leave the ground...

It's sad to think that one reason we could never even place our unenlightened leaders on the same craft, because a similarly unenlightened terrorist would decide that was the perfect situation to blow them up in... quite a fitting metaphor for the political situation the world finds itself in.

That's a good point, one I had not even considered. I was more referring to the dangers of space travel. I think a large part of the problem is that the world's leaders and politicians place such a ridiculous amount of importance and value upon themselves, as if they are irreplaceable. Even without the threat of a terrorist attack, I don't believe they would go for it...

Gene Roddenberry's vision with Star Trek comes to mind, in that, the society that was formed after the human race expanded out into space and came into contact with other races, changed that society's understanding of what was more important in a similar same way.
