I got from the OP that the thread title wasn't what was being asked..

Alethea Thompson wrote: Not really. But rather this is about a different type of question (though, given the way this community goes I'm okay with you actually following the line in the subject title, lol)- what would you think of a person that posed such a question from the get go? Would you think them to be insecure about themselves? Why?

You've already managed to offend the lactose intolerant Jedi. Way to go

But seriously, I believe it would be a completely futile exercise here. Very few of us even use our legal name as a handle here (I don't). How much can we ever really know about each other when the mode of communication allows for anonymity? And even when asked a specific question, how do you know I'm telling the truth when I answer? There are some members here that I couldn't even tell you their gender with any certainty. Not that this is a bad thing. We can be known for our ideas rather than stereotyping each other.

That being said, I'm open to reading any opinions others here have of me. I consider myself a pretty confident person and I can stand to hear some criticism now and then. I'll get you started.

My name is Steve. I'm 35. I drink too much beer.

I'm game. I'm in. :woohoo:

Describe me...

I'll not post or comment if it has anything to do with me. :)

To be completely honest.... I don't know if its relevant. Like I said in my earlier post, unless im working on something that requires this sort of feedback, I don't know if there's value in it. Peoples opinions of me are filtered through their own bias and experience so frankly, its not going to be "accurate" anyway. Its someones perception.

More to the point. Why do I want to know what others think of me if not for the purpose of validation and comparison. My mum always used to tell me, what other people think of you, is none of your business.

and it kind of reminds me of that gag they use in movies.... well enough about me... what do you think about me

Part of the seduction of most religions is the idea that if you just say the right things and believe really hard, your salvation will be at hand.
