So why are there four flags in the upper left corner of the site? (I'm very saddened at myself for not being able to name all four of the flags). Also, why isn't the American flag there if the Temple is based in Texas?

We really don't. I'd suggest we separate this and call it "American" but my generation has butchered it enough, I don't want to give anyone more of a reason to :woohoo:

Most of the official stuff is written in English, by a young Englishman...

Just wait until you're in texas and have to try and decipher that accent of theirs :woohoo:

By far the hardest american accent to decipher is cajun

Hahaha I heard that too. And honestly I've done 1-3yrs in both Japanese and Spanish (long long time ago) and I'm sure as the sun rises glad that I grew up with English!

Regional variants on English are absolutely fascinating to me :D Being in the military, I get to talk to folks from all over. I think I've lost a lot of my regional speech in adopting phrases and words from across the country. I think the soda/pop/coke argument crops up the most! (I use soda, I'll accept pop, but coke is coke, does not include other brands! XD silly South)

Most of Texas doesn't have a heavy southern accent. My husband has only a very slight drawl but he's a city boy. Most of that heavy drawl you'll hear in the old weather-worn country cow boys and they speak slow enough you get most of it (the slang might be the more difficult part).

Now, my friend from West Virginia...don't get him mad or you'll never understand what he is saying! That guy can speak so quickly with such a thick accent that you can't understand much at all! And what you can understand is hilarious!
