Nikola Tesla on The Force was created by
So, to be fair. During the time of Nikola Tesla, the industrial revolution was at it's peak. Scientific discovery was ramping up, and the greatest inventions of our time were not even imaginable to most men. Nikola Tesla was not most men.

The list of Nikola Tesla's inventions is quite long, including AC electricity, electric motors, radio, remote controls, florescent lights, neon lights, and lasers. Other than the inventions which he made, the ones he did not get to make were staggering as well, one of which was the worldwide wireless transmission of data between superstations (The Internet, imagined in 1908), and another being an early precursor to robotics. If ever there was a case to be made for the possibility of time travelers having visited our past, Tesla would be prime suspect 1.

While reading some of the quotes of this great man, a few stood out to me as sounding very Jedi. Keep in mind that at this time, influence from the far east was limited, Tesla was born a Serbian, and was raised an Orthodox Christian. But, some of what he describes sounds an awful lot like what we here call The Force.

“Nature may reach the same result in many ways. Like a wave in the physical world, in the infinite ocean of the medium which pervades all, so in the world of organisms, in life, an impulse started proceeds onward, at times, may be, with the speed of light, at times, again, so slowly that for ages and ages it seems to stay, passing through processes of a complexity inconceivable to men, but in all its forms, in all its stages, its energy ever and ever integrally present. A single ray of light from a distant star falling upon the eye of a tyrant in bygone times may have altered the course of his life, may have changed the destiny of nations, may have transformed the surface of the globe, so intricate, so inconceivably complex are the processes in Nature. In no way can we get such an overwhelming idea of the grandeur of Nature than when we consider, that in accordance with the law of the conservation of energy, throughout the Infinite, the forces are in a perfect balance, and hence the energy of a single thought may determine the motion of a universe.”
― Nikola Tesla

“My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.”
― Nikola Tesla

“Every living being is an engine geared to the wheelwork of the universe. Though seemingly affected only by its immediate surrounding, the sphere of external influence extends to infinite distance.”
― Nikola Tesla

“But instinct is something which transcends knowledge. We have, undoubtedly, certain finer fibers that enable us to perceive truths when logical deduction, or any other willful effort of the brain, is futile.”
― Nikola Tesla, My Inventions

I know that all religions try to grab great minds from the history books, as if it would make a bit of difference to tomorrow, but it would seem to me that Tesla believed in and had a connection to "The Force" as most of us would call it.

Perhaps I am finding connections where I want to find them. Nikola Tesla is a great inspiration in my life. I was destined to be an electronics engineer ever since the first time someone fired up a Tesla Coil in my local science museum, and electrical forces filled the air around me. But I would also like to think that a man who studied so many energies of the universe, would be intrigued at the very least at Jediism, if not a member if he was with us today.

Indeed, Tesla is also my favorite inventor of all time. Thanks for sharing.

I love learning about the philosophies of great scientists. It has greatly influenced my own philosophy. Almost zero philosophy is taught in college science, engineering, etc. I even studied philosophy at a liberal arts college as a Physics major and the philosophies of Einstein were never discussed, even poo-pooed by many professors.

A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive.

I dont want to derail the thread...

I am NOT an engineer, lol, but more of a shade tree philosopher...;)

So many of our great leaders, philosophers, thinks, inventors, and whoever, could probably be considered Jedi...

Ahead of their time, generally looking at the big picture, realizing the inter-connectivity...

I will stop now,as I am about to derail,...

Does it always go forward?

Could we not also be considered, what I shall now 'coin', 'Teslans'? ;)

I've been fascinated with Tesla ever since I saw the movie The Prestige (a great movie, if you don't mind flashbacks and flashforwards). It was my introduction to the "weirdness" of his inventions. I wonder what else he might have thought of, didn't say out loud or write it down, and never really fleshed out.

I've also looked in to how Tesla's ideas relate to the Force. Once such invention was a free energy generator. It was able to take energy right out of the air and perpetually power its self after start up. To bad Rockefeller cut Tesla's funding before he could complete it. However modern scientists were inspired by Tesla and managed to reproduce his work. Only to be bought out or shut down them selves.

Look up Thrive on youtube or Nassim Haramein. You could also read the Kybalion. I think its in our library.

This guy has the most advanced reproduction of Tesla's atmospheric electricity generator(that I've seen) and it actually works!

Here's another thing that has always fascinated me:
