Years later your child is dying of diarrhoea - you're not going to leave the woods and take a trip to the pharmacy, to buy/beg/steal the tablets provided by the man-made world of science labs and factories?
Isn't this why we have holistic medicines ? I find myself intrigued by Ayurveda, I do not know enough about it at the moment but it is something I intend to study in depth in the future.

What do you think of the idea that natural disasters are caused by negative human intention, in that the planet is as you say "shaking off some of the lice", could it be possible that as a conscious energy the planet is using it's own ability to bring about new balance as the will of our species becomes more and more obsessed with the destruction of natural resources?
Every morning when i go into my kitchen and look over the shared back garden I have a little giggle to myself.
In the spring a seedling of a tree took root just beside one of my neighbors sheds, I have intently watched it grow to 6 foot this year, and I look forward to it filling out and further growing this year.
You see the neighbor hasn't bothered to tend the land around the shed and as such hasn't noticed this little tree which will continue to grow until eventually it knocks the shed down, I see this as nature taking back the land for itself.
It fills me with a great sense of the force every time I look at it, a lesson from nature about the effects of no action.
*I should point out that i do not giggle at the thought of my neighbors misfortune over the loss of his structure, more so at the thought of nature being conscious and saying "well if you're not going to take care of it, I'm having it back"*

Parasite
A parasite is an organism that lives on or in a host and gets its food from or at the expense of its host.
Which is just about identical to the definition given by Webster and Wikipedia. Jestor mentioned earlier how we are a part of nature and have evolved to this point. I will not disagree with that. But who is to say we have evolved to a point that is mutually beneficial to all or the existence of others. Parasites probably didn’t all start off being parasites. They usually “evolve” to that.
I have said for years that I try to live with the Earth, not just on it.

We are born of nature, we die to nature and are as such the vehicle is consumed by it's constant journey forwards.
We are only here as observers of it's beauty and power.
*I hope you enjoy them as much as i did*

Anyway, people can live a long happy life without all the amenities we have now. Most pills come from plant extracts. Amish people thrive without cars or electricity and are pretty carbon-neutral. We can use our intelligence to shape the Earth into a Garden of Eden paradise or we can have just a few people who get everything the Earth has to offer while the rest of the people sleep on concrete next to rivers of refuse.
Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
