I try and share this website on reddit, pinterest, delicious, and stumble upon almost everyday in an attempt to try and grow the site. Has anyone else been trying to do this?

Forgive me, I do not wish to come across as rude. I am genuinely curious.

Why are you so dedicated to growing the site of a Temple that you are not even a member of?

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet

Part of the seduction of most religions is the idea that if you just say the right things and believe really hard, your salvation will be at hand.

With Jediism. No one is coming to save you. You have to get off your ass and do it yourself - Me

As a point of reference, we have had over 15,700 registered users in the 7 years since the new forum was established and we have around 500 daily visitors (members and guests). We're also the most trafficked Jedi site in the U.S. and possibly wider too.

Not too shabby ;)

Is it not better to have 10 seriously committed members who understand than 10,000,000 uncommitted who are disinterested ?

If the words of 10 recruit two more dedicated each, and so on, in the end everyone will be completely dedicated to the church and have a full understanding of it's teachings as opposed to the unlimited signups from an advertisement link from folk looking to have a game of star wars.
(I have a feeling 2015 will be a busy year for TotJO)

Jediism is still a fledgling religion and as such it will take time for people to come forward and accept / admit belief in the force, people fear what they do not understand and it's easy to see how all of this can come across as foolish until you look deeper.

I am sure that news of TotJO will eventually reach the ears of those that need to hear of it, and in the meantime the community stays a strong one through the dedication of the few this means TotJO will still be here when more serious members choose to visit and join the community to learn the path of the Jedi and I look forward to meeting them when the time comes.

"Jesus started out with just 12 apostles and look at Christianity now"

Here and "NOW" it is what it is, why worry about something so material.

I have allot of ideas. Minimal marketing is not a hassle for me. You don't need to be Christian (just as an example) to go to church. You may just want to help others find a place to connect.

I'm amazed we don't have more people on http://www.reddit.com/r/Jediism/

I actually try to keep it quiet. Most people just don't get it(jediism). When we DO reach the point of the hundredth monkey effect and people start signing up because it's the thing to do, it will most likely become a mindless religion. Just imagine the priests running hurriedly from wedding to wedding and funeral to funeral with family counselings in between and a pile of 500 oaths to process when they get home and 15 apprentices with questions like "how should I wear my hair?" or "does this robe make my butt look big?". lol

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

This cannot happen with the structure as is now.... Jediism cannot become "mindless", as it is about constant "Mindfulness".

hence my earlier

"If the words of 10 recruit two more dedicated each, and so on, in the end everyone will be completely dedicated to the church and have a full understanding of it's teachings as opposed to the unlimited signups from an advertisement link from folk looking to have a game of star wars."

Let those that seek the force find Jediism, we're not hard to find, I don't believe the Temple needs to be flyered and advertised.
