I'm writing this because I want people to be more aware, of other people. I want you to look, really look at people you see every day, maybe you just pass them on your way to work without noticing, or they may be your neighbour's and you've always meant to find out there names get to know them, just never seems to be the right time.
We live in this bubble for most of the time, hurrying to work, school, maybe nowhere in particular and we never stop and really look at those who walk this path with us. Even our family's and loved ones can get pushed back as life's priorities change. We may argue, or just drift away.
Now look at them and imagine if they were no longer in your lives.
What would you of said to them? Would you of changed how you behaved? Tried to make amends? Would you of smiled at the stranger at the bus stop who looked down, given a kind word to the old man who lives alone downstairs?
What would it cost you, in the overall scope of things, pride? Humility? Love? Your precious time?
And what is the cost when they are no longer here?
There are so many hurt and lonley people that drift through life with no one to catch them when they fall.
You never know how much a second of your time will mean to these people, and everybody has a spare second.
So even if it's just one day, look at the people who live your lives with you, even at the fringes of your path. Please..

It may not be the positive note that Rai posted, but this one gives me the same movtivation to seek understanding in others.

When you touch the seed of understanding
mindfulness, and loving-kindness in you, you make
those qualities grow stronger for both your own
happiness and the happiness of other people
and all living beings around you.
