Rubik's Cube!

Not many that I've met can solve one. My fastest solve time is 1 min, 42 sec. What's your fastest time, if you can solve it, genuinely?

Kewl, sounds fast. Does it depend on starting configuration or do they all resolve down in the same sets of moves?

I had a Rubik's Snake, I think my parents must have been a bit non-conformist.

My fastest solve time is...:

3x3x3 Normal: 52 Seconds.
3x3x3 Middle Less: 1Minute and 4 Seconds.
3x3x3 Shaped(doesn't have color on sides... but the size of blocks on each side is different): 3Minutes and something:P
2x2x2 Normal: 43 Seconds.
4x4x4 Normal: 11 Minutes (and something:P).
5x5x5 Normal: 21 Minutes (and something:P).
7x7x7 Normal: 43 Minutes and One Second!
Snake: Hadn't solved yet.
Magic: 71 Seconds.
Super Magic: Hadn't solved yet.

For me, it doesn't matter how messed up it is, I will solve it the same, no matter what.

I would love to get my hands on some of those. I only have the 3x3x3. I really use it when I'm thinking about something or if I'm bored and thinking about what to do next. I've solved a 2x2x2, as well, but I'm not interested in owning one. Nicely done.

Exactly... I do it to free my mind. Kind of like... meditation?

I really suggest the 3x3x3 shaped one, if you've already solved a normal cube.

And, yes, I do consider it more of a meditation because I can just do it without thinking too much about it while I'm thinking about something else. Sort of a tactile aspect to the thinking process.

I can usually get them solved down to the last two squares, but then I get stuck. And even getting there takes me a good 15-20 minutes if I don't mess it up and have to start over. In high school I had a teacher who did it in under a minute blindfolded.

I can solve any rubix cube you give me well at least any normal one. i started on a 5x5x5 cube and have never timed myself with doing them.

Wow! He must have had a good memory. The fastest I've seen someone solve it on YouTube was 5.66 seconds, not blindfolded. Pretty remarkable to be able to do it without being able to see it. The fastest I could ever solve it one-handed was 30 minutes. lol

Since I only own a 3x3x3, I can only imagine how much harder it is to take on a 5, or even 7!

Rubiks has a really good app for ios or on their site that teaches how to solve the cube. Very helpful.
