I love answering quiz questions and find them to be a good way to get to know other people, so I thought it would be fun to put a couple questions I'm curious about out there and see people's responses. You can answer one or all of these questions. Enjoy!

What is your favorite film of the moment, and why do you like it so much?

If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?

If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)

You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?

What attracted you to Jediism?

If you could master one skill perfectly, what would it be?

Take the political compass test . Where do you stand?
(You can post your results , or write it out, e.g left libertarian)

Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?

If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?

Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?

Show me your favorite youtube video of the moment, and tell me why you like it.

What is your favorite film of the moment, and why do you like it so much?
Can't decide.

If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?
10 years from now so I can tell myself all the things I screwed up and encourage myself to definitely not do that.

If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)
Improve education system (through some magical undefined method), so that people can empower themselves to then fix the stuff that gives them sad faces.

You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?
A tyrannosaurus.

What attracted you to Jediism?
The stars aligned and it seemed like a good fit for a stoic.

If you could master one skill perfectly, what would it be?
Handwriting.

Take the political compass test. Where do you stand?
(You can post your results, or write it out, e.g left libertarian)

I didn't really understand some of those questions enough to answer them honestly.

Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?
Right back here telling past me not to do a bunch of dumb stuff.

If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?
Tight rope. Is there really any other acceptable answer?

Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?
Went to Estonia on some Cultural Understanding/Army business.

I don't really have a favourite recent film, but I'm a big fan of "Brazil", I also like the exploitation genre.

If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?

TO be honest overall I think I'm quite happy in my current era. As to places, I like travelling anyway, so anywhere will do.

If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)

Politics is what needs to be taken care of imo. Once this is gone, I'd expect the government to be as efficient as it can be (resulting in as-good-as-we-can-make environmental policies, education, etc...)

You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?

Whatever makes my redundant weight evaporate. If not available I'd have sashimi.

What attracted you to Jediism?

A friend told me there was a real jedi religion (he was talking about the census phenomenon). The internet eventually revealed there also was an actual religion. While not particularly interested t first, my appreciation of the "kreia" character in a star wars game (she's basically existentialist) and my subsequent discovery of the shadow path in Jediism got me hooked.

Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?

I like surprises :)

If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?

Quit.

Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?

I'm not sure where that would be, either way, it'd be "why not". As a kid I'd cross borders (illegally) on foot/bike/hitchiking because I could.

I'm not a big fan of having favorite's, but I like things with crushing paradigm shifts. I really liked "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover" but its been ages since I saw it... perhaps ren would like it!! Some of David Cronenberg's stranger stuff, and I've always enjoyed Sci-Fi, but of course anything which makes me laugh. I don't like sad movies, they make me end up blubbering.

If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?

Future about 300 years, with ability to chose where.... just really curious.

If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)

Improved and more accessible education & health.

You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?

LOL, hmmmmmmm. To be pleasantly surprised. I like chocolate no doubt. Smoke salmon and bacon make good entree's. I restrict my diet to avoid allergens and too much fat, so I honestly have no idea - which is good, because I'd be easily surprised.

What attracted you to Jediism?

It joined my spiritual dots into a unified system, to enable continued work on them individually but also to consider bringing them together - world religions and beliefs, future science, psychology and neuroscience, society, the environment. I did also see the Star Wars in 78/79 when I was 4/5 so it was a part of my early youth which I'd since completely forgotten about!!!

If you could master one skill perfectly, what would it be?

Manipulation of energy, ie; Mr Manhatten (from the movie Watchmen). More realistically, memory accessibility - retention, retrieval and subconscious processing for inspiration.

Take the political compass test . Where do you stand?

Economic Left/Right: -2.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13

Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?

Nearly 50 (what!?), occasionally travelling, and I'd love to setup a medical research laboratory but might need to win a large sum of money for that. Hopefully wealthy enough to be philanthropic whilst still having a decent quality of life. I'd love a family but am getting a bit long in the tooth.

If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?

Fire stick spinning, whilst jumping on a big trampoline - or aerobatic pilot performing overhead during the day... unless someone makes glow in the dark smoke in which case it might be great at night.

Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?

Moved a lot as a kid, but away from 'home', only 1100-1300km, just up the coast for various reasons.

1)What is your favorite film of the moment, and why do you like it so much?

I quite enjoy Monty Python's The Holy Grail as I find it hilarious. I tend to have a strange sense of humour.

2)If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?

I would live among the dinosaurs in the Jurassic Era. Life was simpler then, haha.

3)If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)

In my opinion I think America needs to realize that regulating the rest of the world is not its job.

4)You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?

Spaghetti and meatballs.

5)What attracted you to Jediism?

A yearning for knowledge and the realization that I had always been a Jedi but simply didn't know that name for it.

6)If you could master one skill perfectly, what would it be?

Sword-fighting. I've always wanted to learn, and I still plan on it.

7)Take the political compass test. Where do you stand?

Economic Left/Right: -4.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.33

8)Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?

It is more about the journey than the destination. I simply see myself as being content wherever I am.

9)If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?

Acrobatics, because flying through the air is fun.

10)Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?

Virginia Beach on a school band trip. It was a great time.

11)Show me your favorite youtube video of the moment, and tell me why you like it.

I don't really have a favorite video but I rather enjoy all videos by Toby Turner a.k.a. Tobuscus.

May the Force be with you,
Rai

Hmm, perhaps SLC Punk although I don't know if you can call it "of the moment" as it is somewhat old.

Hypatia wrote: If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?

Delos, Ancient Greece ca. 200 BCE. My religious beliefs are linked intricately to ancient Greece and I would love to have the chance to experience life in that period. I've also always been fascinated by the Greek culture post-Homer. The advent of democracy, the music, the warfare strategies, etc.

Hypatia wrote: If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)

Hmm, I don't think I can pick just one.

Hypatia wrote: You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?

My mother's quiche lorraine! No doubt! She used to make it once or twice a year but hasn't in quite some time and I'm missing it.

Hypatia wrote: What attracted you to Jediism?

The emphasis on open-mindedness, learning, and personal development. It also helps that it is syncretic and does not interfere with my existing beliefs/practices.

Hypatia wrote: If you could master one skill perfectly, what would it be?

Wow, that's a tough one! Maybe self-discipline. Though I'm not sure if it counts as a "skill" per sé.

Hypatia wrote: Take the political compass test . Where do you stand?

Economic Left/Right: -6.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.77

I'm further left and down than Gahndi and Nelson Mandela, hahaha. I love this test though, its very interesting! How did I know that many of us would fall that way? =P

Hypatia wrote: Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?

Ideally, settled down with my future wife and children in some coastal city in CA or northern WA.

Hypatia wrote: If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?

Either the ring master (or whatever that's called) or some sort of freak.

Hypatia wrote: Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?

Oradea, Transylvania, Romania. I went on a mission trip with my church youth group at the time (before I turned away from Christianity) to help with a church plant among the Gipsey people (apparently that's how they spell it).

Hypatia wrote: Show me your favorite youtube video of the moment, and tell me why you like it.

Sorry, I don't watch too many YouTube videos these days!

What is your favorite film of the moment, and why do you like it so much? The Matrix - because it takes us beyond the normal perception of reality.

If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why? The future, maybe around 2100 to see how far humanity has come.

If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc) Human trafficking and life-long governmental representatives. Human trafficking affects us all in some way, an becoming more abundant. I think the best solution to government is to demand that senators, congressmen and the like have no longer than 4-6 years term. This will assure we do not get the same people in our government over and over, and it will also assure they stay connected with the people instead of gathering money and becoming more and more disconnected.

You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be? SUSHI! Always sushi. Oh, and squid and octopus and ... sea food.

What is your favorite film of the moment, and why do you like it so much?
I don't watch many movies. Umm...maybe World War Z? I'm really not sure.

If you could experience life in a different place or era, when and where would it be, and why?
I'm not really sure. There isn't a different era I would like to visit. There are quite a few places I want to visit, but I don't know where I would want to live for any extended period of time.

If you had to choose only one, which issue in your country right now do you feel needs to be addressed the most (protection of the environment, economic equality, governmental transparency, conservation of endangered species, better education system, etc etc etc)
Economic stability would be nice. Even better would be if democrats and republicans could all stop throwing fits when the other party does something they don't like and actually get something done other than trying to undo all progress anyone has made.

You could have anything you want for dinner tonight. What would it be?
Honestly, anything my parents make would be nice right now. I'm sick of eating pasta in the school dining hall twice a day every day. I'd really like spaghetti squash with white bean, tomato, and olive sauce.

What attracted you to Jediism?
My values and the values outlined in the doctrine were aligned. I also really like the IP and the apprenticeship track for exploring Jediism, as it is a clear way to get started on exploring the religion and my own beliefs.

If you could master one skill perfectly, what would it be?
Either fencing or juggling.

Take the political compass test. Where do you stand?

Right libertarian (Economic Left/Right: 1.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.67)

Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?
I honestly don't have a clue, and I'm not worrying about it. I'll figure it out as it comes. I would like to have a family by then, but other than that I really don't know.

If you could perform in the circus, what would you do?
Juggle fire, eat fire, really anything with fire is cool.

Where's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?
I went to France in high school for a school trip.

Show me your favorite youtube video of the moment, and tell me why you like it.
I don't watch videos on youtube very often. I can't think of any right now, and I definitely don't have a favorite.
