Don't Do It

I guess that with any secret you have to ask yourself how determined you are for it to stay a secret. If you cannot afford for a deed to be found out at any cost I guess the only way of ensuring that it is not discovered is not to do it in the first place.
If you feel that it is worth taking the tiny chance that you might be discovered, in doing the deed you just have to accept that you will be doing something that ensures that there is actually something to be found out.
We are responsible for our own actions...we are also therefore responsible for the consequences of them.
The way I think of it is - there is an invisible barrier between the mind and the physical. When something remains in your mind and your mind alone, and does not have any impact in the physical world, it is your secret to keep, and you hold absolute rights to it. When something crosses into the physical realm (anything more than personal thoughts in the mind), although you may think that no-one else knows of it, you also metaphorically sign away the rights to absolute guaranteed secrecy.
I wouldn't say that it should be that way (i.e in instances where it concerns something that is not necessarily immoral) - but that once things become tangible they almost always leave some kind of trace or evidence behind, and we just have to accept that it is a part of the nature of life in the physical world.

But aren't we still entitled to privacy?

Privacy is a lie we tell the world.
Only those with something to hide, hide anything at all.
I never claimed that lies are evil, but they are destructive.

There is a difference between not asking because you don’t want to know and others “keeping” things hidden. Privacy is not something you should have to ask from others. It is something you should respect of others. I should never have to say, can I have some privacy. Others should respect that each person has their own space and that should not be invaded unless you are invited.Definition of SECRET
1a : kept from knowledge or view : hidden b : marked by the habit of discretion : closemouthed c : working with hidden aims or methods : undercover <a secret agent> d : not acknowledged : unavowed <a secret bride> e : conducted in secret <a secret trial>
2: remote from human frequentation or notice : secluded
3: revealed only to the initiated : esoteric
4: designed to elude observation or detection <a secret panel>
5: containing information whose unauthorized disclosure could endanger national security — compare confidential, top secret
If you feel you need to keep something “secret,” why? Id others are not going to invade your privacy, what is there to hide?
People think that they have some right to privacy. There is no real privacy. That is an illusion just as control is. What we have are the courtesies of others.
We seem to look at things from only one side a lot. Someone invading or taking from me... when we pry in to others lives, we are taking from them. How rude are your friends that privacy is such an issue?!?!

I still don't see anything negative or bad. I have a secret bread recipe and do BMs in private.

I never said it was bad.

I never claimed that lies are evil, but they are destructive.

Just because something is destructive does not make it necessarily bad either.
And just like control, when we believe that we are keeping secrets, the one we usually end up hurting the worst is our self.
Just my opinion of course.

I didn't say I couldn't do it in public, I just would rather do it in private. On camping trips sometimes the latrine is just a box with a hole over a pit in the middle of the woods. Actually a very nice setting, 360 wide open view and believe it or not private.
