They wanted to only let white people vote and this was their way of getting around the law. I'm old enough to remember a poll tax in Texas though I was far to young to vote. Imaging having to pay a tax to vote.

Well I think it makes sense to test people before allowing them to vote. But they should test everyone....

Looked at question 30, looks grammatically f***ed to me, not to mention, it seems to be a maths/geometry question? Very strange.

Still waiting for any one reputable website.

Examples:
ABC
NBC
CBS
FOX
TheHistoryChannel
New York Times
Main News Paper from Lousiana.
Main News Paper from any state at that.

Wikipedia is not reputable at all.
Blogs are not reputable at all.

BuzzFeed is not considered reputable.
http://www.crmvet.org/ does not even appear to be reputable at all. Looks like someones personal views and rants.
And seriously Black News, Politics, Business and Headlines • Africanglobe.net
Alexa Traffic Rank for http://www.africanglobe.net/: 114,163www.africanglobe.net/‎
African American news, profiles, travel and headlines from Africa, discuss the issues that matters most to the Black community worldwide.
Something that says BlackNews and your not going to think this is going to be slanted??? Sorry. Non-Reputable also.

Find your information IN MAJOR well known places.

As far as slate... which is considered reputable the author is now not so sure whether or not this is really true. Source http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_vault/2013/07/03/louisiana_literacy_test_update_the_hunt_for_the_original_document.html

So again I await a reputable source.

I think if your going to force your opinion(vote) into governance on anything you should do your homework before casting your ballot....but this seems....ludicrous. The trick to these questions is that you can declare any answer wrong on a technicality and it only takes one. So they just had to give a list of whomever they don't want voting to the test scorer(is that a word).

The problem with Wikipedia is it's only as reputable as its sources. the hardcore science stuff is pretty good though. Better than any other encyclopedia, and people have complained it's not accessible to the common folk.

News are necessarily biased, and since there's always some kind of politics involved, they get worse. I wish we had totalitarian regimes, because at least, we would know what the propaganda is and therefore would have a chance of guessing what the real news are.

I didn't know you had to be literate to vote. The illiterate still pay taxes.

Illiterate doesn't mean dumb just as literate doesn't mean smart.

It isn't about whether you are intelligent enough to vote. It is about controlling who can and can't because they might vote against you.
