Reaction to this
when I check out "2x2=4 3x3=9 4x4=15 5x5=25 6x6=36 7x7=49" from left to right, it's like i'm reading 5x5=26, but if i look directly to "5x5=25" i read right.
redoing it does the same. is it an optical illusion or what ? when i'm reading 4x4=15 my brain alerts me that a 6 is missing here instead of a 5 and maybe he tries to correct that by putting the missing 6 in place of one the numerous 5 in 5x5=25 (the neighbourhood of all those six in 6x6=36 makes it easier)
Am I clear ? :silly:

My first thought was, “Why would I react to that?” I looked at it for a minute noticed a few obvious things about it and thought… “Hmm… I must be missing something?”
I came back to it a day or so later and wrote it down and thought about it for a while…
I guess I wouldn’t react to it!?!?!?
I’ve been checking back in periodically because now I’m curious as to how others “react” to it. But other than that it isn’t more than a mild curiosity.

I did notice that the 4 x 4 stands out a bit, but that is all. The thing I thought of was that the concept of 15 is implied in 16, and that since one is not actually counting out four groups of four objects of any sort, it just doesn't really matter if one (1) is missing for it is all abstraction anyway. One (1) isn't truly missing, for a) there wouldn't be a one (1) nor would six (6) be missing as it is a conceptual value only implied by the multiplication of the fours (4) also conceptual. This would be the case with any of the numerals, so I would probably just smile and be happy to never have done accounting ...

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
Part of the seduction of most religions is the idea that if you just say the right things and believe really hard, your salvation will be at hand.

I took is from a seminar I attended recently. As it happens most of the people there all jumped on the obvious error of 4x4 =15. We are quick to notice errors and quicker to point them out especially n this case as even with my limited intellect I should have got 100% .
The point of the exercise for a Jedi perspective is that first we should congratulate on getting 5 out of 6 right and perhaps ask the question how did you arrive at 4x4 being 15. It may have been a simple error which can be corrected immediately. One the other hand the person may simply just not know. This can apply to anything. We make mistakes all the time it is just part of being human.
Knowledge tells us of the error. Wisdom allows us to correct it without teasing or causing embarrassment. Focus lets us keep that person on the right path.

I think it would depend on where I saw it, who wrote it, etc.
(as usual I haven't read through the thread before I'm posting this, so I apologize if I'm just repeating something another person has said.)
I would make a mental note, just for myself, that the 4x4 was wrong, but I wouldn't likely say anything - unless I was helping someone with math or something.. and then I'd just ask them to look at that problem and think about it again.
Like I said.. it would depend on a lot of things as to what my reaction would be..
