Public Service Announcement

Many times in life there are things we think we know and have believed with every fiber of our being. Having faith in something can be a good thing. But the second we believe that we are the end all and be all, the final say on knowledge of any given subject, we limit ourselves and the possibility of growth.

Wisdom comes from knowledge and understanding. As time marches on, available information changes.

Certainty is something that only comes in varying degrees and is usually never in a nth or absolute state.

Please remember to remain open minded and respectful to all people and ideas.

Thank you.

If all opinions were equal their would be no experts.

If I wanted an opinion on building materials I wouldn't ask a lawyer, and if I needed legal advice I wouldn't ask my doctor, and if I needed my computer reformatted I wouldn't take it to a chicken processing plant.

/shrug

People expect all views and opinions on the internet to be equal to all others for all purposes and this just simply isn't the case.

I think the mainstream media is mostly to blame for this as they present topics like global warming like both sides are equal and have just as many scientists on both sides of the isle.

This just isn't the case.

Having opinions, does NOT an expert make!

Otherwise, my fourteen year old daughter is a freakin expert on everything! :P

All opinions are equal. Their validity may not be as sound, but an opinion is just that... an opinion.

The post is not about whether two opinions are equal. The post is about being open minded and respectful and recognising that you are limited in your own knowledge regardless of how expert you think you are...

If you have made a decision, then you are living in limitation. Always act while asking questions.

That doesn't mean you're indecisive; it means that every action you take is a step towards something else, and it's not a permanent step.

Ask yourself: "What opinions do you have about your knowledge that you just cannot get rid of... Would you destroy and uncreate it? Would you give yourself the opportunity to act from genuine interest rather than egoistic bombasticism?"

Just ask more questions than make limitations, and you'll find that you will grow much more and have more knowledge.

I say this all the about TOTJO and its knowledge all the time...

Mostly, TOTJO is here to help with the mental side of life...

I am considered an expert in TKD... Especially compared to a new person... Not so much to someone more proficient than I am...

I would not, and am not, saying that to toot my horn, but to give an example...

We are all teachers... In some way, of some thing... We are just better at somethings than others...

I can not get upset with the guy who does not know his left from his right...

All I can do, is keep explaining what I want them to do, over and over... What I want them to think, over and over...

And every class, try to explain what I mean...

Then one day, the student says, "OH!1 You meant my RIGHT foot!!"...

The light bulb just clicked on...;)

IN the 'space' thread, I am the guy who doesnt know his right from his left...

And I keep asking questions to try to understand... Unlike a child, I also try to do a little research too... To help me understand...

I would ask everyone to treat each other like a loving teacher would their student...

With patience, love, and, a little more patience...

Maybe it is the delivery, maybe it is the chemistry between the people...

Whatever it is, sometimes, the lesson cant be given/absorbed... But, maybe it can be later...
;)

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....
