Changes to Login and User Dashboard

We are testing a change on the front page where Community Builder will start taking over the user dashboard and activity feed instead of EasySocial. EasySocial has been giving us some compatibility issues after the upgrade, so this is part of making the site more stable going forward.

Shielding Bracelets was created by

Back in the day these used to be much more popular than they seem to be today. Seem's the focus has gone from Energy Work to Prayers instead. Hense the ever popular...Prayer Beads.

But when I first joined the community in early 2000. The focus on the Force and the energy that surrounded us was a much higher focus. How our energy flows, how the force flows around us - and through us, how each and every thing has a different sense or different vibration of energy. How these various vibrations can effect you and you effect them.

This is when Empathy was more of an energetic reaction towards other peoples "Force Energy" rather than towards a persons perspective or situational belief.

So if someone is projecting a vast amount of Negative/Dark/Tense energy - You as an Empath would soak that up and if you are untrained/unaware....reflect similar behaviors or energy.

I was really bad at that. My life at the time was going through some real hard struggles that had me moving from one place to another, meeting new people and dealing with the drama that came with it. I would get headaches and my mood would sway from one end of the spectrum to another which was not Natural to my own personality.

As an herbal learner I knew alot about the energy of plants and questioned the energy of stones.

While it is still common today i don't seen it as often in the Jedi Community as one would back then. But each stone often represented a set of purposes and meaning. Just like astrology, or animal totems, ect ect. After alot of research, hunting, and digging....I came upon two stones.

Jade and Hematite.

These two stones I crafted into a little bracelet and shortly after i found that the emotions and behaviors of others....effected me little to not at all. So I wore them all the time!! lol

Over the years, the Jade emerald color faded into a near white....

Weather or not the stones actually worked or it was just some form of mental association. I don't know. But id like to think that the stones faded due to all the negativity it had absorbed and protected me from. Par the advice of some friends and self reflection I ended up freezing the bracelet and destroying it with a hammer. (Which was quite satisfying)

Now my life is changing again. My family is going through a huge shift in our natural cycle and it's been effecting us in many ways. I find myself unable to wake up in the mornings, always tired, depressed and dragging my feet. I am stressed and worried and my husband is worse.....which just makes me feel worse.

So here I am again. Making an Shielding Bracelet in the hopes it will help me regain some of my old motivations lol

I thought I would share more openly here instead of in my journal. Below the pictures I thought I would also share and old lesson i wrote up for Just Jedi

Lessons on Stones

Warning: Spoiler!

Just like plants; Minerals and stones have been said to emit different vibrations and amplified auras. If you recall, earlier in this manual we had you finding different stones and items to feel and differentiate between the various auras. Now we learn how to use them to magnify our own senses within the force.

Quartz

Quartz Crystals are the single most used stone in Religious, Spiritual and Magickal practices. Scientists have long studies it’s properties and to this day, this beautiful little (And not so little) stone amazes everyone who looks upon it’s prismatic beauty.

There are many types of Quartz, Rose, Cloudy, Amethyst, Grey, Citrine and are simply beautiful to behold. Because of this, stone artists have used quartz to create statues, and other artistic pieces but even more uniquely is that, due to the structured arrangement of Quartz it’s adams vibrate at a very stable frequency which makes these little stones great as a receptor and emitter of electro magnetic energies. Even more amazing is that one can induce an electrical current into the Quartz which causes it to vibrate and create it’s own weak electrical currents. Because of this they have been used for watches, radios and other electronic devices and most importantly noted, the Silicone chip which is used in our computers and mobile phones.

Just like the programing of Silicone Chip’s. Some have claimed that you can program Quartz with your own energies, aura and thoughts. Through meditation and focus we are able to set specific stones up for different purposes. Cleansing, warding, trapping, amplifying…

Every practice and faith has come up with their own use for Quartz crystals. Some believe that, if a Quartz is programed and cut to specific dimensions (Often the same dimensions of the Pyramids) it can re-align energies, chakras, and meridians of those that hold or wear them.

Silver & Gold

Silver and Gold are both natural metals that have been used in mysticism of all different kinds of Cultures and Lore. The Egyptians believed that their skins were made of gold, rich and vibrant while their bones that of silver. Mystical artifacts were made of Silver including a container that held the “Book of Thoth” a spellbook said to be so powerful the Gods would punish any mortal who read it.

Colloidal Silver and Colloidal Gold were both liquid solutions made in ancient egyptian time when alchemist worked their creations for healing. One man believed his Colloidal Gold, or Aurum Potable as it was called could heal….anything! Further study of the Colloidals has remained controversial but even to this day, gold is used in medical practices.

But the most important aspects was their connection to the Yin and Yang elemental energies. Gold is seen as having a Yang element while silver is Yin. Using one or the other would help in amplifying the practitioners use for balancing or unbalancing energies. If a patient or yourself is To yin, you would wear and focus on the properties of gold (yang) and if you are to Yang, you would use silvers to cool the tempers of yang.

Amber

Amber is a favorite of mine. Not only is it pretty, but it has a natural pain relieving property. The oils and essentials that seeps out of the hardened sap of pines is soaked through the skin (neck or wrist) and sooths the aches. Mothers of old and new have used Amber Necklaces to relieve teething in babies and arthritis in wrists and hands of elders. While its not so much a magnifying element for use of the force, the ability to clear up blockages within yourself is always a worthy source of knowledge to have.

Homework!: Start a stone collection and document each stone by it’s aura properties and use in magnifying or otherwise within the force. Use of focused meditations are great in finding these answers. Take pictures of your work and write about it in your journals.

NOTE:: This is just a copy paste of a brief exert to a full meditation lesson system over at Just Jedi. I just wanted to share the information on the stones as a means of sharing information and ideas. Not as an attempt to teach or train.

I read something about shield bracelets before and always wanted to try my hand at one. One of the temple members here made me a mala necklace of pure amethyst since that is my stone of choice (and works best for me) but I want my bracelet to be a mix of amethyst and the volcanic lava rock as seen here:

I just need to go get the stones so I can TRY and make it. I had the necklace that goes with the bracelet but it broke...it really helped with my anxiety!

I was very close to adding Volcanic beads to mine as well

I decided to hold off for now. I may end up doing it anyways as I was hoping to attach a bit of symbology into the project

Tip: Purchase an essential oil you enjoy and soak the beads in them before drying in the sun. The stone will absorb the oil and hold the scent for some time. Which is an added bonus for aroma therapy on top of Energy Stones

Beautiful bracelet Triss! I love the color, the shape, and most especially the meaning and use!

I have something I use in a similar way. It's a slice of caribou antler I've hung on a leather necklace. It's mostly oval but has one side that points out. I also made a totem of Fox of clay, and while I was at it, I made two beads of the same clay that day. Those went to frame the antler slice so I can carry a part of him with me.

When I feel I need more strength or energy, I wear it with the point facing my heart. When I feel I could shed some overbearing emotion, I wear it facing away. It gives me a focus when I need it, I'll take it off and rub the marrow with my thumb to give me a tactile distraction in panic attacks or otherwise need calming down. The marrow will also hold oils with a strong smell for a few days, and have hints for weeks after.

I LOVE the idea of a bracelet but I can't wear it at work

Thank you Kit! Yea thats the other thing that I like about Shielding Bracelets over Prayer Beads. I notice most prayer beads have tassles or feathers or more beads that hang at the end of them.

I make my shield bracelets to be adaptable to work and common use. Tassles and hanging strands get in the way

This pair I decided to use a clasp since I didn't use a stretchy string like I did my last one.

I often make my shielding bracelets of metal--silver, iron, or copper--because I use them for a different purpose. I hadn't thought of making one like this before, though.

If I made one I know I'd put in quartz and amber for sure. maybe tiger's eye. Something black. I need to look up meanings sometime haha

haha I was actually looking at silver beads too

I associate with the Kitsune fox and the Inari goddess and Silver is in that whole "Energy" field. The beads were too wide though so I stuck with Cloudy quartz, Rainbow Chalcopyrite spacer's and.....grrr i cant find the green beads name. They didn't have them labeled. So far Im loving it and i have extra so i might make a matching necklace

sadly my art store is very hit or miss. Most of the beads are plastic and the actual stone ones arn't named so you have to just feel and guess what fits you best

If you're looking for a good source for stone beads, I make my mala ouf of beads from Fire Mountain Gems. They have a variety of stone/gem/wood beads in many sizes/qualities. Plus they are not expensive (unless you want super high quality gemstone, lol) and the shipping is fast and cheap!

Both those locations will have them but you gotta make sure you feel them. If you don't know how plastic feels vs stone, I'll second Fire Mountain Gems. They're very reasonable and has good stuff. Everything you'll need to make it. Etsy could be another option. If you have a Hobby Lobby they'll have something too. Wallmart also carries a few beads. Really anywhere that has craft supplies will have something.

haha An old friend of mine from TJW (The Jediism Way) board gave me this list for one of my library projects.

Naturally I always suggest people do more research into each stones meaning and even then.....Meditate with the stone and discover your own meaning. As your resonance and the stones resonance will bond with you differently than it would me.

Bloodstone is a very healing stone, especially with abdomenal issues. I've always found it particularly useful for the feminine time of the month.

Amethyst -- for me the most healing of all stones. I start out each Reiki session with a few taps of the Amethyst crystal.

So I should just make a bracelet out of ALL of these? hahaha

The stones I wear in my rings are Blue Topaz and Citrine for creativity and leadership. But I don't think they'd do well in a bracelet

too expensive!

I was thinking of obsidian but I wasn't sure they made beads out of it but look at these! I didn't know it came in these colors!!

Ooo amber is more expensive than I was expecting

What size beads did you use Triss? 4mm and 6mm?
