Juyo - Darth Maul and Master Windu (Mastery)
I happen to think this form, as many of Jedi do. As one of balance. Balance between the raw power of the force, and grace the light casts. Juyo was used with great effect by Master Windu in the clone wars due to its preferred environment, of no one around you - you need to care for - to properly use.
It is a very advanced technique, which drifts very close to the dark side of the force. ** AND IS NOT recommended for Padawan level or even KNIGHT level Jedi. Mastery requires Mastery of this form. As this form is very violent, and violating a pillar of our code... There is no emotion there is peace... Using passion for good requires the trait of Mastery. A Jedi Master. One who stands in the face of darkness, only to cast the greatest of lights. Master Yoda.

Makashi offers a duelist perspective. One of calm and control designed for lightsaber duelists. Students intending to study Makashi need to be very much focused on the duel between two swordsman, and generally must allow themselves to see the form as more of an art than as a means to an end – the majority of those that practice Makashi generally remain true to the form, studying no other form than the Shii-Cho. In a physical sense, Makashi is also one of the least demanding of the forms, with the focus on stability and counter-attack rather than kinetic energies or strength.
Noted Practitioners: Cin Drallig, Master Siphadias, Count Dooku, Darth Vader

After being approached by those bound by chair, or bed. With the common question - how do i train as a Jedi, being differently able'd?
Being bound to a chair or bed no longer will effect your Jedi Life. You CHOOSE to live higher than an eagle can sore. Allow me to assist you with this tasking. YOU are a warrior, in your heart. Regardless of weight, disability or condition. Live forever in the time you have together. I have begun the arduous task of creating a lightsaber form for those of different abilities. Relying heavily on force power, this form will allow one in a chair as well as bed to defend themselves indefinitely, and even toss a counter attack in every now and then! (my videos are being shot, with the assistance of some friends)

The force is with you - that much is sure. Now let it flow through every part of you, and become one with the force.

Rickie wrote: How sturdy is a real Lightsaber for practical self defense?
that depends on the lightsaber you use - i do not recommend a force fx as they are not dueling lightsabers. In most cases a cold steel hand and a half sword - removing the crossguard - will suffice. Lightsabers are used in choreography and routine. Kata work. Also Bokken training swords are also useful for this training purpose as they do not break, and do not hurt as much when struck. Thirdly being wooden they simulate the light weight balance of a true lightsaber.

For training but not for real self defense? The skill you gain can be used with a more effective self defense weapons?

Very much - you can apply these forms to Sword fighting in various degrees as well as different martial arts - Take form 2 Makashi - very very similar to fencing.

One needs to be careful with such advice as I have had my hand broken by training with bokken. In fact the reason that Kendo went to Shinai is because of how dangerous solid wood bokken can be even with padding. Heck there is even a tale of Musashi killing a man with a bokken made from a boat oar.
Not trying to come off as a jerk just adding information that can save people a lot of pain.

One requires pain in training to allow you to know you are completing these exercises properly. If you are experiencing ANY pain during training - you are not ready to wield a REAL sword. of any type. PAIN in training allows for one to master a movement as to not strike themselves with their own blade. thank you very much for your words!

After pain comes great reward - during this battle Anakin was struck, hard. After this he never lost a limb again until his son took it. Why? he mastered the style of which was his downfall. we often must be struck and feel pain to never be struck that way again. in life and in training!

Actually, Obi-Wan took the other three limbs way before he ever meant Luke Skywalker.

If people are suffering broken bones and sever bruises during a teachers classes that teacher is seriously out of their mind. Safety of the students if first and foremost in any class.
Also as Khaos is right he lost the other three limbs at the blade of Obi Wan.

Everyone trains at their own level - and no you should never push yourself - TOO far...

This I totally agree with. I mean those at high levels of training should move up until the are using live blade. However at the start foam or Shinia are a good idea. I just didnt want some newbie reading this and then getting a bokken and getting themselves or their training partner seriously hurt. Sure we might hope that people here are wiser then that. But one can never be sure.jake_sato wrote:

Again I thank you for your concern, I have to remain vigilant in saying tho - those who can not handle training at higher levels - should not. That is very obvious to ordinary cautious and prudent individuals. Such as Jedi

I'll start practicing and how I hope to go forward in my ability to duel with my level while in the temple and to perfect 7 forms of mourning while I strengthen body and mind. Any advice for a rookie?
May the Force be with you

Some interesting stuff. You guys get together for sparring and such? Do you integrate hand to hand training into this practice as well?
