TRI training? was created by
I was thinking about entering a little triathlon, maybe in the summer/autumn time. I have pretty good cardio fitness and run and cycle pretty often. I was wondering if any of you guy's have experience with Triathlon? any tip's about race day's? training regime's? I'm not sure about the best way to go about training, do i split the training up ? or is it best to train all 3 disciplines in the same session? any tips much appreciated :P

Training for one at the moment actually. Best advice I was given was ensure you're training in each discipline separately once a week and all other workouts focus on getting your base fitness up. Then in the last few weeks start doing them concurrently if you can. Also, train to over shoot the distance you're competing at.

Thanks a lot guys, brilliant! unfortunately i was cycling today and swerved a stray dog, come straight off my bike and bashed up my arm really good. It looks like i will be out of the game for a little while  just debating about taking a trip to hospital actually! i will see how the old hot and cold treatment go's first. Guess it will just be running for now lol!

I've done a few sprint triathlons, even won my heat in one of them. That was pretty much the pinnacle of my athletic existence, it was all downhill from there. But here's one bit from me: if you're a good runner and cyclist, don't forget to get better at and practice swimming . I nearly died in one of mine cuz I was too exhausted from the other two events to swim well.

I know that this is off topic. But I didn't know Desolous was from alabama. I reside and am currently living in Montgomery. Had not realized there were Jedi here. May the Force be with You
