Hi!
I'm learning to tame stress now and a nice relaxation technique is what I need much.
The ideal one would be short, simple and powerful. But that's ideal, I know.
Will give me some references please?

I wouldn't exactly call this a relaxation technique, but it helps me get rid of negative emotions in relatively short order.

My grandfather once told me abut a friend of his who would take naps while holding a heavy object in one hand that was over the edge of his bed/couch/chair/whatever. When he was asleep enough to drop the item it would wake him up and he would be good to go. Never could do it myself but the idea is interesting.

I'm afraid, my sleeping habits are awful enough as they are. Biorhythms just go crazy. Have to use sleeping pills sometimes. Napping will make this much more hard.
I think, I'll just balance sleep from one edge - get to sleep at correct time and set the alarm with big buffer of time for me to wake up before it, so that my sleep will not be interrupted mechanically.
And I'll do tiny meditations daily. The guide I mentioned is ok for that.

Reminds me of something I read for how to take a catnap, though the one you mentioned seems simpler. Goes something like, "Hold a small metal object, like a small key or coin, in your hand over a ceramic bowl or cup. Doze off while sitting up and when you're asleep enough to drop the object, the sound they make together will wake you."

Hi. Have you heard of Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping (EFT)? I learned about it a seminar somewhere and didn't believe it until I tried it. It's basically tapping pressure point/acupuncture type areas on your body to help lessen emotional stress. I think they said it's useful for pain too but I've yet to test that out. Anway, when I get stressed I'll tap at certain points of my body and the technique calms me down. I might look a tad strange doing it but I don't care. What helps helps. I also use this one to help me sleep sometimes. If I'm still awake past 3am I'll use EFT with quiet music.
Also from some other seminar, I learned that when you feel negativity building up in your body to stand and stomp a foot. It's supposed to direct your negativity out of your body or something. I can't remember exactly how it was described to work. I've used this too when I've felt anger building to explosive proportions. I'll walk a few steps away from the 'anger point' and then stomp a foot, imagining all my negativity passing out of my body and into the floor, into the ground. It's worked for me. It's quick and simple, though might leave others wondering wtf as you do it.
