Insight Timer app for meditation was created by Cyan Sarden
I've been using the Insight Timer app on my phone for years to time my meditation practice. I find it useful for a variety of reasons:
- lets you save presets (time, bells etc.)
- automatically logs your meditation practice
- and one of the best things: it comes with a whole bunch of guided meditations, led by some of the world's top meditation teachers (e.g. Sharon Salzberg and Jon Kabat-Zinn - Jon's "Healing Lake Meditation" is one of my all-time favourites as it basically teaches you one of the many ways to feel one with the Force)
If other people here use the app, it might be nice to create a Temple of the Jedi Order group?
May the Force be with you,
Cyan
ps: I'm not affiliated with the makers of the app - it's just a tool I use / recommend.

Is if for iPhone or Android or both?

Just answered my own question (or at least partly). I have an android and I just downloaded it. I'm looking forward to using it, I'm still working on my meditation practice.

I didn't even think to look for things like this.
For "scientific" purposes, I'm going to download the free versions of Insight Timer, Meditation Timer: ZenTime, Meditation Helper, and Meditate Free Meditation Timer. I want to try them all and see what works best for me.
Though, if Insight Timer has a group/community feature and others don't, that's a very good mark in its favor already.
