How do you keep your mind sharp? was created by
Personally I like to play games like chess or do crosswords or sudoku.
I'm not even sure if these activities do anything for my mind, but I enjoy them and like to think that they also are helpful in even a small way.
Anybody else?

My job keeps my mind sharp usually. Translating can be pretty difficult, no matter one's profficiency in a language. I also meditate daily for at least 20 minutes. Once or twice a week I'll go to the Buddhist temple nearby and meditate with the monks in the evenings. Still haven't found a good sitting position that doesn't make my foot fall asleep lol.

Actually i do play poker and i am always on trying to be sharper and more focused. Actually i am trying never to stop challenging my brain, with non stop tutorials and studies, different mind sets even with creativity.
I believe i can count two factors for sharper mind and perception.
a) Non stop challenge for the brain, like it works with body training. You need to push on to have results.
b)And away from any emotion. Every emotion wastes huge amount of brain resources and that is an unacceptable effect. If someone wishes to use large portion of his brain, he must fight the emotion.
This video maybe be useful:

Playing
adventure games
, writing
interactive fiction
, studying/practicing languages, composing electronic music, and daily tai chi.
I don't really do any of that to keep my mind sharp, though. It's all stuff I enjoy. When I try to do brainy things simply for the sake of increasing my braininess or improving mental health, I usually fail miserably.

Seriously, I also play poker (the game of life), reading a wide variety of subjects (even stuff I don't like much), go to different places, see different things, do different stuff, exercise, walk outdoors off the sidewalk and roads, drive down roads I've never been down before, walk backwards, sit in the dark, I'll do some things just to be different and get outside of the "box" :woohoo: (no one should be surprised about that), I hate boredom....take naps.

In my opinion the relaxed feeling that you get from meditation can prove very useful in keeping the mind sharp. Exercise such as walking your dog or going to the gym etc can do wonders for your mental state.
