Yoda s Breath
Following breathing exercise possibly could be directly from master Yoda, but decide for Yourself. For the best results is recommended to take a meditation position (any) and relax.

1. Close your mouth and inhale slowly through your nose, while counting till seven
2. Hold your breath and count slowly till seven
3. Exhale completely through your mouth - slowly and count till seven
Now repeat this cycle (point 1+2+3) six more times for a total of seven.

*Whenever count till seven - we count very slowly !!!

Trataka
‘Trataka’ is steady gazing at a particular point or object without winking. Though this is one of the six purificatory exercises, it is mainly intended for developing concentration and mental focusing. It is very useful for the students of Hatha Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Raja Yoga. There is no other effective method for the control of the mind.

Really beautiful "Candle flame meditation"

You need quiet dark room with all windows and doors closed (with not a little air draught) and a candle

1. Sit comfortable and place the candle on the table in the distance of your arm and in the same level as your eyes.
2. Watch the top part of the flame and repeat mantra

ÓM PRABHU DÍB NÝRANDJAN SABA DUKA BANDJAN

(first week only about 20 second a day! important!) and after only 10 sec longer)

(translantion: Ó Lord have a pity on me please and remove all obstacles from my way so that I may be all one with you.)

If you are new to meditation then something that I found useful during my apprenticeship, especially with regards to separating "self" and "mind" was THIS VIDEO ....

I hope it helps anyone struggling... the trick isnot to fight your thoughts... if you fight them you are still thinking ;)

Just watch them as they pass and (as it is so eloquently put in the video) "Let Them Be".
