So this instructor thingy...

Would that just qualify someone to teach a specific subject? Would they be granted access into the Apprentice/Knight forums even if they don't accept the mantle of either? Or is it just, 'hey, this person knows what they're talking about when it comes to (insert subject here), we should allow them to teach on that matter specifically'? A person for TM's to send their apprentices if they feel they cannot accurately or completely answer a question their apprentice may have?

I, too, am interested in this instructor position/rank. Sounds intriguing. Perhaps those of us who maybe aren't cut out to be knights but still have something to teach/say might find some utility around here... I like it.

“Though, as the crusade presses on, I find myself altogether incapable of staying here in saftey while others shed their blood for such a noble and just cause. For surely must the Almighty be with us even in the sundering of our nation. Our fight is for freedom, for liberty, and for all the principles upon which that aforementioned nation was built.” - Patrick “Madman of Galway” O'Dell

Once RyuJin and team clean up the DQS, its my understanding that there will be open access. A visiting instructor will be permitted to submit lessons/classes to the DQS for review. Once reviewed, they can be taught.

There will be no access to apprentice or knight forum.

In regards to getting credit, the instructor would need to submit an excel sheet for any classes taught with the individuals names and the points they recieved.

If a TM sends a student to a visiting instructor for a lesson, once the lesson is complete, the instructor will let the TM know, who will log it on their sheet

That sounds amazing. Especially for those that have achieved knighthood elsewhere, or in several places, and/or have been teaching as Jedi for years now. Gives students a chance to learn officially through these valuable members. :)

These ideas sound like incredible strides to globalize not only this site but Jediism in general! Impressively good job here!!

So as I have discussed before I am most interested in this teaching title as well as completing the B-Div. And I would like to be a part of the team that develops these things. As a holder of the A-Div but one that does not hold the title of knight I think I am one of the few uniquely qualified for this sort of thing! What sort of timeframes can we expect in these endeavours?

I'm not sure about timeframe just yet, but I've asked RyuJin how long itll take to clean up the DQS so that it can really be open. I'm awaiting a reply

The concept of instructors seems fun, especially in terms of individuals who've hung around for awhile but aren't part of your hierarchy, or even, are specialised in something TOTJO doesn't offer. There's a few notable names who've been around over the years who I think would be of much benefit to your Order.

I'm also interested in seeing what changes will be made to the IP. :)

the guest instructor thing wouldn't be until sometime down the road, we have some other things to tidy up and get sorted.

likewise i know a few in the jedi community at large that i think would be happy to contribute...

Is it going to be a requirement to only pull from this lesson pool for every valid lesson or will we have the ability to write our own lessons as well and maybe even add them to the pool?

Currently adding to the degree scheme is a privlage granted to knights of the Order.

That wasnt my question. I asked if it was a requirement to pull from the lesson pool only and I asked, under the current revisions how its going to evolve to those of us pursuing B-Div but are not Knights.

So, those are great questions. Ill point Ryu Jin this way.

But to my mind. Adding to the lesson pool can be granted to those with the rank Instructor/Sr. Instructor whether members of our order or visiting. The KEY is the lesson(s) must be approved by RyuJin and Team.

Its a long way off as I've stated since we dont have a list of lessons yet.

As to whether lessons must be pulled from the bank, well that'd be ideal (otherwise why have them :) ) If any lessons aren't pulled from the bank, there is always the potential they wont count. There is also the possibility of having them reviewed by ryu. Thats a bit of extra work. I'd say do as much as you can via bank. Then, if there are other things you want to explore, create the lesson and have it approved first

Currently only knights create lessons. However to echo ros' comments for work to count toward the b.div it must be approved by ryujin, and it's his prerogative to accept or decline lessons whether made by a knight or not.

Doing existing lessons is a safe bet.

Sounds good. However I'm sensing a bit of "us vs them" vibe and I would like to try and bridge that gap. As i have said multiple times before I'm willing to work on the team to develop this new direction forward. As a holder of the A-Div but not a knight and interested in the B-Div and the teaching credential I seem the perfect candidate to add to the development team.

This is a large project and it will take strong leadership. I offer my services in that regard. The concept of "a long time" that ros mentions is not the sort of thing that instills confidence. I want to help change that!

I feel part of this process should include setting milestones, developing requirements, setting a critical path, and having monthly updates to the membership on progress. I'm willing to help develop these project areas along with the edu-admin as well as pound out any grunt work, developing curriculum, formatting lessons, writing requirements and descriptions.. etc.

I feel these things are needed to push this forward in a timely and effective manner and I want to offer my expertise in these areas. This is my experience and training being put to good use here and I would like to know what it will take to move these ideas forward with me as a member of the development team?

Your offer is appreciated. There are a great number of lessons which need to be peer reviewed and Ryu has a solid team to do so. Good things take time
