The Rasmus - Sky

I have got a heavier heart I must give it away
Maybe it's not too late to regret now
I have gone into the deepest dark
I stained my hands with blood
And if the end won't be painful
I sould be grateful

I just wanted to see the sky
open the one last time
I just wanted to feel the rain
washing away the pain
washing away the shame

I know fate's deciding for everyone
and that for everything
that we do there's a reason
all my life I have been asking why
I never thought I would get it together but finally now
As I'm leaving life has a meaning

I just wanted to see the sky
open the one last time
I just wanted to feel the shine
it could have been divine

Give me one more night
I will make things right
I have changed my ways
all I need is time
Give me one more day
let me clear the way
I'll make up my crime
I will do my time and

I have done terrible things
I must pay for the sins I've done
and now my world is in pieces
I got lost down in the blazing fire
Traded my soul for a minute of pleasure
and now I must pay for the worhtless treasure

I just wanted to see the sky
open the one last time
I just wanted to feel the wind
welcome the virgin snow
before it's my time to go

I have got heavier heart I must give it away
maybe it's not too late to regret now

Lauri Ylönen - Heavy

They built you a cage of diamonds and gold
most beautiful place for you to grow old
They brought you the moon and served you the lie
and all that you wanted was freedom to fly

It's heavy
but you are not the only one
who's tired of giving
afraid of the oblivion
Could it be that your curse is a bliss?
But the crown on your head never felt this heavy

Harness your rage, take a leap of faith
to claim back your soul before it's too late
Show them no fear, sing them goodbye
Leave all but your heart and you're free to fly

It's heavy
but you are not the only one
who's tired of giving
afraid of the oblivion
Could it be that your curse is a bliss?
But the weight of the wolrd never felt this heavy

Take the evident leap of faith
Don't you be afraid

It's heavy
but you are not the only one
who's tired of giving
afraid of the oblivion
Could it be that your curse is a bliss?
But the cross that you bear never felt this heavy

You are not the only one
who's tired of living
afraid of the oblivion
Cause the crown on your head, the smile that you wear
the cross that you bear never felt this heavy

The crown on your head never felt this
heavy

Hay&Stone - Prayer Song

Love is vibration of heart
Love is vibration of heart
Sound is vibration of air, the sacred blow
In the dream of the sound begins the song

I wanna be one with the sound
I wanna walk as one with the wavemaker, wanna
Be one with the sound
And i ask you, and i ask you to come along

Music speaks the language of vibrations, would you
Listen to the language of vibrations
Our heart hears the call of vibrations beyond

I wanna be one with the sound
I wanna walk as one with the wavemaker, wanna
Be one with the sound
And i ask you, and i ask you to come along

This is Master of Darkness, by the band Star One, headed by Arjen Anthony Lucassen who is the composer, singer and creative head of Ayreon and Stream of Passion. It is a progressive metal tribute to The Empire Strikes Back. There's multiple singers in the song, hence the titles above the lyrics.

[apprentice]
Will you teach me the skills of the old ways
Lying dormant in me
Help me evolve and enter a new phase
Where my spirit runs free

[teacher]
I cannot teach you, I feel too much violence
And it’s clouding your view
Clear your mind, master the silence
Let it flow within you

[dark lord] I can feel a storm of passion raging deep inside you
[princess] Control your hate
[dark lord] Now it’s the time to yield to your aggression just like I do
[princess] Now choose your fate
[dark lord] And be a master of darkness

[apprentice]
Don’t be afraid, I won’t stray down the dark path
My conviction is strong
Those who’ve sinned will answer to my wrath
I will right what is wrong

[teacher]
That’s not the way, the dark will absorb you
You should never attack
You will be lost like many before you
There will be no way back

[B. LASERFIGHT]

[apprentice] You cannot break me, I’m not afraid of you
Don’t think you’ve already won
[dark lord] I am your destiny, you know it to be true
Don’t make me kill you, my son

[apprentice] I don’t believe your lies, I can’t imagine this
How can you say that to me?
[dark lord] You’ve got to realize it’s useless to resist
Join me, we’ll rule the galaxy

In my coming to the Jedi religion I relate my journey to the song Go The Distance from the Disney movie Hurcules.

I have often dreamed
Of a far off place
Where a hero's welcome
Would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face
And a voice keeps saying
This is where I'm meant to be

I'll be there someday
I can go the distance
I will find my way
If I can be strong
I know every mile
Will be worth my while
When I go the distance
I'll be right where I belong

Down an unknown road
To embrace my fate
Though that road may wander
It will lead me to you
And a thousand years
Would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime
But somehow I'll see it through

As far as a song that embodies Jediism I like to listen to another disney song, Make a Man out of You from Mulan

Let's get down to business
To defeat the Huns
Did they send me daughters
When I asked for sons?
You're the saddest bunch
I ever met
But you can bet
Before we're through
Mister, I'll make a man
out of you

Tranquil as a forest
But on fire within
Once you find your center
you are sure to win
You're a spineless, pale
pathetic lot
And you haven't got a clue
Somehow I'll make a man
out of you

I'm never gonna catch
my breath
Say good-bye to those
who knew me
Boy, was I a fool in school
for cutting gym
This guy's got 'em
scared to death
Hope he doesn't see
right through me
Now I really wish that I
knew how to swim

(Be a man)
We must be swift as
the coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force
of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength
of a raging fire
Mysterious as the
dark side of the moon

Time is racing toward us
till the Huns arrive
Heed my every order
and you might survive
You're unsuited for
the rage of war
So pack up, go home
you're through
How could I make a man
out of you?

(Be a man)
We must be swift as
the coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force
of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength
of a raging fire
Mysterious as the
dark side of the moon

(Be a man)
We must be swift as
the Coursing river
(Be a man)
With all the force
of a great typhoon
(Be a man)
With all the strength
of a raging fire
Mysterious as the
dark side of the moon

Ground - Assemblage 23

Be still
Though chaos rains around you now
Only so much rain can fall at once
Breathe in
And let the air envelope you
And slow but sure, serenity will come

CHORUS
Close your eyes
Try to breathe
Feel the ground beneath your feet
It's still there
The world still turns around

Stand up
Though circumstance has knocked you down
There is nothing gained by staying within its reach

Take strength
In every failure you endure
Our mistakes have many lessons they can teach

(CHORUS)

Destroy
These walls you've built around yourself
You can't take another step until they're gone

Move out
No use in dwelling in the past
Bid farewell to all your fears and carry on

(CHORUS)

Mine would have to be "Let it be" by the Beatles.

"When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be"

I think it ties in well to the Jedi teachings of peace and wisdom.

Not the most obvious and perhaps more of an observation than a teaching but you can take something from it. (I also wanted to include the most insane song in the thread :P)

Viscinity of Obscenity

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go2aAJaDmaY

Warning: Spoiler!

This song is talking about how small the "Vicinity of Obscenity" is. Men are programmed to have certain views on women. Whether it's finding a dirty magazine on the playground as a kid, or Paris Hilton trying to sell you a sex-burger during a Teletubbies commercial. No matter where you look, obscenity is "In Your Eye." It's unavoidable and in your face, just like the guitar and vocal styles when they scream, "Banana banana terra cotta..." The food references are symbolizing genitals (Banana = penis, pie = vagina). (thanks, Trevor - Lakebay, WA)

I was wondering about this one the other day, and though it sounds like he's having a whinge, the way he sings the line "story of my life" seems more like he's accepting the fact that his is just the way things are...

so tolerance of change and acceptance ?? maybe I'm reaching.

Mike Ness is an awesome songwriter though, Jedi or not lol.
