Elements Bracelet
I had ordered a bunch of semiprecious and even one precious gemstones on a flash sale I just couldn't resist. When I got them in, I wanted to make a bracelet so I started pawing through the order. I love love love amber, and even though it wasn't on sale, ordered a set of chips anyways. So I started with those. Began picking out a few others I loved, and realized I needed a bit of different texture in the pattern. As I was going through the beads I realized the three I had chosen: amber, lapis lazuli, and red and black agate, reminded me of fire, water, and earth respectively. I had also pulled out the rainbow moonstone I had ordered more out of curiosity of what it looked like. "Well this could be air!".
After looking at the set for a bit, I knew it needed something else. I was quickly reminded about the Wiccan tradition of five elements. Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Spirit. I had always loved that addition so I went with it too! I chose amethyst. It's always been a gem I love and the bead would add a nice texture to the rest.
Later I looked up the meanings to these stones which I'd like to share here. Specifically the parts that drew my attention.
Earth: Bead, black and red agate (dyed / heated), 6mm round, C grade, Mohs hardness 6-1/2 to 7
Fire: Bead, Baltic amber (heated), light to medium, medium chip, C grade, Mohs hardness 2 to 2-1/2.
Air: Bead, rainbow moonstone (natural), 10x4mm-12x8mm hand-cut rondelle, C grade, Mohs hardness 6 to 6-1/2.
Water: Bead, lapis lazuli (natural), 7-9mm round, D grade, Mohs hardness 5 to 6.
Spirit: Bead, amethyst (natural), medium to large hand-cut pebble, Mohs hardness 7.
It's strung on white silk, and finished with a small 24k gold clasp
Overall, I'd say a good haul for something that I got on sale and pulled together
Edit: no more pictures, it's not working

Protection, Strength, Harmony
I found several websites that point to agate as being a protection stone. "Agate's most noticeable properties overall are balancing yin/yang energy, courage, protection, healing, and calming...Agate enhances creativity and strengthens the intellect"[1]
Nice!! I find all of these quite useful to my life and practices! The website continues:
"Emotionally, agate gives courage, emotional strength, self-confidence, and dispels fears. It can also lessen feelings of envy by grounding the emotions. In the same way, it assists with acceptance of all things. It can be very beneficial for self-examination as well as examination of the circumstances one finds oneself in. These qualities make agate superior for easing anxiety and stress."[1] I can use a lot of that too!!
"Agate is said to strengthen the body and the body's connection to the earth. It also increases energy."[1] I sure as hell need that too. I also read on a website I can't find now that agate is a stone related to earth. I think I chose a good stone for this one

Warning: Spoiler!
"Honey amber is a useful stone for those individuals seeking truth from their life as it assists the user in not only understanding their place in the world, but in finding and accepting their life’s purpose. It can also help users identify the truth of a situation, allowing them to not only tell when someone is being honest, but when a situation may not be as it seems. It assists in balancing energy overload, reduces the chances of spiritual burnout, and helps users see things as part of the larger picture and not just in the moment."[1]
This has been my favorite reference in the websites I've read. I end up with spiritual burnout a lot...badly. I'm in the middle of trying to find my place. I think I have a good idea but it's nice to have some help in this
I also read somewhere that amber is considered a stone of the sun. So yay fire!!
Part of why I love amber is the feeling I get from it. I just love how old it is, I guess it gives me a feeling of being in touch with that expansive time and a reminder of the same.

I had a hard time finding anything that wasn't...floofy. Something I could relate to. This is what I ended up liking
"Supports a connection to the Goddess and the moon. Regulates menstrual, fertility cycles and menopause. Enhances psychic knowing, psychic insight, and entering into realities other than those which are earth based. Increases intuition, advances ancient women's wisdom, helps in developing magick, and aids in rituals. Soothes the emotions and mind, aids spiritual growth and development, and helps to heal the astral body."[1]
I picked rainbow moonstone because I thought "Well, the moon IS in the sky! And so are rainbows!!" ok so sometimes the creative process is dumb... anyways! I'm noticing that a lot of these have to do with healing
I wonder if ALL gemstones do healing or if I'm just badly in need of it lol. I really feel I'm in need of spiritual growth and development, so that part is nice too.
Oh! I found this too:
"Moonstone is often called the visionary's stone. It helps us see things more clearly. Rainbow moonstone, in particular, offers us visions of things that aren't immediately obvious. Because it helps us avoid tunnel vision, we are able to see other possibilities. It's like a flash of inspiration that comes when we are open and quiet. When we wear rainbow moonstone, life-changing inspirations can happen more and more often." [2]
I like this one a lot more.

What I've loved about lapis, beyond the color, was the connection with Ancient Egypt. I'm finding a lot of websites attribute this stone with connections to the spirit worlds and helping with contacting guardian spirits especially. It seems to be more attached with the night sky rather than water but that's ok, they remind me of islands in the water. But a helpful stone for me to be sure.

Spirit: Bead, amethyst (natural), medium to large hand-cut pebble, Mohs hardness 7.
Warning: Spoiler!
"The origin of this gemstone, according to the ancient Greeks, was the nymph named Amethystos. She refused the attentions of Dionysus, the god of wine and intoxication. As he pursued her, she prayed for protection and to preserve her chastity. The virgin goddess Artemis answered her call for help, transforming the nymph into a white or clear stone. The story ends with Dionysus pouring his wine over the stone--either accidentally or deliberately--dyeing the crystal purple."[1]
"Amethyst is a wonderful talisman for use in the creative arts, especially in darker shades. It assists endeavors where new, original results need to be created using tools and methods of the past. It is often used as the Artist’s Stone, the Composer’s Stone, the Inventor’s, Poet’s and Painter’s Stones. Keep an Amethyst crystal or cluster in the area to focus and amplify the creative elements of the Universal Life Force."[2]
Woo more creativity! This website also contunies on stating that it's also good for all-around energy healing, calming anger (which would be useful) spiritual insights (also useful) balance (which I'm still learning)

Hahaha I never thought of it that way
I guess most of them are super ancient! I think it's the fact it's an organic ancient though. I don't connect to earth as well as living things I think. And to have a piece of that...I donno, it's hard for me to explain. I have a necklace with a piece of red amber. I love it
I wants more! haha
