A Question on Signatures

A Question on Signatures was created by
Since joining the Order, I've been seeing Jedi with signatures saying "Rite: Buddhist" or "Rite: Pure Land." I've assumed this is their previous religion that they've supplemented with Jediism. Is this right? And what is Pure Land?

In the "old days", PureLand (spell it how you like, I like like that) are "The Force" only.... No God, No Allah
Whereas Christian Jedi, may say Christian rite, Buddhist say Buddhist rite....
Now some say S.I.G, or SIG, for Special Interest Group....
There's no need to declare, some us do though....
Does that help?

Well the 'rites' are sort of like that yes
You can be a Christian Jedi and you can be a Buddhist Jedi and a Jewish Jedi etc...
Jediism can be supplemented with pretty much every religion
My signature says 'Pure Land' because Jediism is the only religion I'm affiliated with
Pure Land is basically just Jediism by itself
The rites were renamed 'Special Interest Groups', you'd have to ask maybe Br John or another council member the reasoning for that
I personally don't care much about semantics

That was immensely helpful and all my questions were answered.
Thank you both, may the Force be with you.

rites were renamed special interest groups because they were confusing people, some felt they were pushed into choosing a rite, etc.
