The Block

It is surly a Monday in my own home. Today we woke groggy and tired and so very wary of this past week. Talk about stress, we are trying to buy a farm in Texas and we are on our THIRD closing extension. Needless to say, the will of the family has been tested hard and daily.

Our Maxim on Courage

Courage: To have the will.

To be a Jedi sometimes means choosing the more difficult path, the personally expensive one. A Jedi knows they must make the right choice, take the right side and that the weak they have sworn to defend often stand alone. A Jedi puts aside fear, regret, and uncertainty YET knows the difference between courage and sheer stupidity.

What is the right choice for you and who can make it? In the grand theater of life, it is YOU who can make those calls.

Do you know the difference between courage and stupidity? Do you know the difference in your path?
If we but only ask our self questions, we could have so much more than we did yesterday.

Have courage, not stupidity. Stupidity does things like NOT listen and not take heed when given it.

As I reflect on my own path, I have done some pretty stupid things. None more than that of not taking heed for what it is worth.

Each of us has choices no one else can make for us. The easiest are wardrobe and styles of hair, the not so easy is where to find character and honor and faithfulness. These things seem to be what a Jedi seek.
Have the courage to make your own choices and be the main character of your own tale. There is a magic when this happens in literature and there is a magic that happens in REAL life when it is understood as well. Have the will to do you Jedi. Remember that we CAN put aside things like FEAR, REGRET, and UNCEARTAINTY.

This simple collected truth reminds us that as we make our own decisions, we may be alone. We may be the only ones. Thats ok too. Not everyone is called to be mentors or teachers. What we are called to do is sometimes clear in our path. Other ideas we have to think and seek and wait for are not NO's. Character takes will. Will is needed. Do you have the will? What is your will derived from? Take some time this week to resolve your will. Remind yourself why you do what it is you do.

Any Jedi can have a balance of observance.


Focus can help us pay attention to the things that matter to us. Where does your focus lay? Where does your attention go? Identify where it goes and why.

Knowledge- What do you do with everything you have learned so far? What is it making and bringing to your own path? What are the results of your assessing or keeping these focuses? What are they making you become? What ARE YOU becoming?

Wisdom- what is wisdom to you? How do you treat and use it?

To be quite honest, there is a huge mix of possibility and potential to just these three ideas and in this way. One watches out for the other in a way.

When used correctly, the Jedi Tenets allow us to better ourselves and overcome any obstacle. They help us improve the world around us and fulfil our purpose in life as a Jedi.

It can remind us that we are the way we are because of our FOCUS

Where OUR attention goes

What we put in will come out.

This applies to every Jedi as well as every human

When I realized this for my own self, I did realize I was some days, putting a snake in a box and shaking it all day then getting mad because the snake struck. I will start with music.

I have kids and some of the songs at night I used to sing to them were...not kid friendly and the content of the ideas were not what I really wanted to pass

It was when I paid a bit more attention to what songs I choose that made the tone of things change

We can create or find a healthy balance with anything we come in contact with

The seek of "finding" or " search " is a good idea

Knight Ashria and myself just had a conversation about this very thing the other day. We as people can get lost and see our inner compus going in circles. The forest is lost through the trees so to speak. Those are the times that require us to just stop and just breathe, rethink where we are and where it is we are heading. Just as a general PSA, you(we) are not alone...seek out that light in the darkness, call to it, in that time of need you will find it.

Do you know when to fight and when NOT to fight?

We all develop in the same way. There may be difference in timing and who takes us through it, and where it all happens but, for the most part, we develop as humans in a similar way. It DOES seem that this world often "promotes" confrontation and arguments.

Do you know when it's time for action or non-action?

Knowing the difference between action and non-action can help one find the balance between healthy and unhealthy some days.
The goal here in a place like this is to reflect in a healthy way.

Conflict: To know when to fight.

A Jedi knows the conflicting nature of the Force but they also know its peace and serenity. A Jedi does not blindly enter into conflict and strives to do so for the greater good.

Intervention: To know when not to act.

A Jedi knows how inaction can have as great an impact as action and how some of the greatest lessons are self-taught. To be a victor is also taking that victory from those you protect. A Jedi intervenes only when a Jedi's intervention is required.


These are the last two in the Maxims. The last one states that through all of the seek of these things we can have a Harmony in it and during our seek.

I am a natural fighter and a DO-er. I will never quit or even fail if I fail the first time. I expect it some days.
I know I will fail some days and that is ok too.

Some days, we can reflect and see what we may have missed in the past. This is one of the JOYS of reflections and Journaling... you - YOU will find things YOU missed or have of importance.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST things I have done in my own reflections is to STEP back a bit. To turn around in your own path is to sometimes be able to see what you're doing and how you're doing it.

To know... means you found out a few things so, what do you find out?

Know when to fight and when ... NOT TO FIGHT.

Just a weekly reminder from our doctrine that if we stop and reflect, we can see a few things MORE.

Happy Monday and beginning of the week.

Jedi Teaching number Nine says:

9. Jedi have integrity. We are authentic to what we believe and are open, honest and true to our purpose and our minds. We remove all masks to reveal ourselves as courageous and noble of heart. We do not hide from fear of damage to our image because we know that our image cannot be blemished from the words and actions of others.


When no one is looking, when no one is around, those are sometimes the time for action. A Jedi has HONOR but where they get it from is up to them. Where does your INTEGRITY come from? When no one is around, how do you act? Better still, where does your mind, heart, and soul go when your alone? What do you RETURN to? Knowing WHAT you believe and reminding yourself of your own causes can be a very much needed thing for some. Sometimes, I need to be reminded of who I love and WHY. It is not that I forget, or they do not mean that much to me. There are times we as humans get occupied with life. Life WILL demand our attention. It is good and HEALTHY to remember why you do things and why your serve or chose to act the way we do. Our Doctrine belongs to the human and the Jedi. We can keep things in our hearts and minds.
Our INTEGRITY comes in when no one can be around. As Jedi, we choose where we get our HONOR from. That is a human thing too. You as a human have every right to have a balance of your own and to have a brand or a goal of HONOR to display or represent. It is not a mask if you represent the idea. Just saying. That is also the idea too and reminder, removing of masks can identify what's really there.

So - what is really there? Where does your INTEGRITY and HONOR come from and what do they entail? That's the million-dollar question.

Greed

One of the biggest OBSTICLES for any Jedi and HUAMN is our own Greed.


To manage Greed- What does a Jedi do and how do you combat it? Is greed ok or is it something we can be aware of.

Selfless can be an opposite of greedy. In fact, this is one of the universal ideas we share with one another.

Our paths are our own. The level we choose to participate is always up to us.
There is a very real mood in the word. It is so common that we understand it to be almost a natural thing. Un touched, our greed can naturally grow in ways we did not intend it to.

One remedy for this human factor is The Selfless.
In my own path, I have different ways to do this. One is in my mind; I think about others or TRY to.

In our 16 teachings- the theme is almost you and others. I want to encourage every JEDI to have and evaluate your Codes, Maxims, Teachings, Philosophy and Doctrine.

What does your Selfless path look like? This week, do you need a RESET? Re - set yourself. Check your path and see how much GREED had a grip on things. THINGS change when you change the flow. Change the flow.

Harmony: To be connected to the Force.

A Jedi seeks to live in harmony with the Force, for that is the reason to be a Jedi. To better understand its ways, to better know one's place within it.

Good day and good Monday Jedi everywhere.

Jedi have this BALANCE that is only, THEM. Yoda said "Do or do not, there is no try. " In the thick of things is where we find life. To be in the Force is to be alive. Our own harmony comes from our own "seek. " This week, think on this if you like ..
Where would you be without the "seek" of the Force? What would YOU be seeking? Balance can be a vital part of our path. We can MAKE it or find it.

As Jedi, there is a peace that comes from this seek. No one is perfect and no one ever will be. That's not the goal. What is?

Harmony

This week think about that if you like. We can create discord and frustration just the same way we make peace- love- pardon- faith-hope-light- and joy. How? By doing it. Give it. You know if you do - it does come back and it does make a difference. Keep and give what you need... think about that this week.

8. Jedi are patient. We work on training ourselves not to precipitate events around us. We know that becoming a Jedi is long and hard and requires rigorous dedication and commitment. Jedi train to act with a conscientious state of calmness.

There is a calmness that can be had. After time, there is a peace that dwells in what YOU do.

We are reminded of the long and time-consuming effort it takes to develop our paths. Rarely does a path happen overnight or "INSTANTLY." To live a Jedi life, one must choose to want to be a Jedi, after that- PICK a Doctrine to study, HOPEFULLY, it's your own.

To act in a state of calmness or to be in one, requires time and effort. Active effort every day. What type of effort are you putting in or are we peddling? Is it actual calm? How do we share it? How do we find it? What does it look like? Is an example enough?

We have reached the maximum extent of our ability to try to buy a house. We are out of money, effort and will. The housing market is so mixed up and currently there are 1.7 million Veterans trying to move to Texas at the same time we were. Yet, in the mix of LIFE- winter showed up with or without a place to stay. We did find a rental property and now we are in a forward motion.

We got eggs in the incubator yesterday. We just got internet up and running at the rental farm.

Life is always full. There is no doubt of that. Being a Jedi DOES NOT MAKE IT EASIER. Please don't think we preach and teach happiness and lollipops, all the time. What we do preach and teach is the BOON of patience and character.
There is a peace in trying and life. There is a peace you can have in what we think is failure and sometimes, failure isn't failure. Sometimes, we meet our path or partners in the THICK of things or in the pits of life.

Stay your course and keep on. Life will happen. Count on it. Count on your own study and ideas as well. Fall on your Doctrine whether it be ours or your own culture (s) in your path.

Good day and Time zone and happy Monday Temple of the Jedi Order.

Jedi Teaching number two states we can have a clear mind. This year seems to be one too many people and not enough hours in the day, for me. I do have a feeling like this next year will go by just as fast. There is always plenty to do on a farm and in our paths, there are many things we can pay attention to. During this holiday season I want to remind every Jedi that we can reach the point of LIMIT. Every person has a limit and every love has one too. Things will go on in the world and sometimes we can feel attached to everything we see.

To MAINTAIN means to have and actively work on. Stopping to think and meditate helps. There is so much benefit from it that I can encourage everyone to start or get a routine down. I recommend morning times and Mondays but that's me. Have a place you can go to think. Have it. When you do, use it. Set aside time and make the effort. It helps. Place what YOU need there. Part of our own "TRAINING" is finding our own balances in how we schedule our own lives. It is up to us some days the path or paths we take. It is up to us the flow we want to take.
Some days I wake up thirsty.
This morning there was BIG RED in my fridge. Big Red is a cream soda that's red made in Texas. It is a super sweet favorite of mine. I can drink it flat or cold or even just room temperature. It is hard to find in the state of Illinois. Possible. I have found two places here that sells it so I stocked up for the holidays. Knowing that we have limits can help create a flow that recharges us. I stay stocked on a few things but as a farm we have to buy in bulk. The same can be said for our own personal paths. A Knight is sometimes alone in their search and Jedi usually stand alone in their seek. But in the pursuit of character and path, we find that we all go through the same development.

Create a place for you that you can go to when you need it. Pick those things that you want to learn. Choose the path you go. Have it handy. Some days you may need it, some days you may not but you can have it ready when you are in need. Place your favorite books, reads or authors at your fingertips.

It helps.

True Self Reflection can reveal many things. It can PRUNE us. We AQUIRE knowledge from our own paths. SOUND APLICATION is one of the things in our own balance we have to figure out.

How do we apply it to make us Jedi?

By applying it soundly. One way is to find those who have tried and are doing that which you seek. Find those who have WHO HAVE a balance. That was the difference in Jedi in the CINEMA verses non Cinematic Jedi. Mentors can be anyone on any path of life who have been there and done that and have a active balance. I feel bad when I hear those who say, " Do as I say, not as I do." Drives me crazy but it is possible too. The SYMBOLISM is Mentors. Find your Yodas. Seek them out. Talk to your ELDERS. I guarantee they are waiting for you and they have more likely been there the whole time and know a wee bit more of what we do.

Make contact with those around you, not just people but find the teachers and those who have what we seek.

but it is those who have" been there and done that " that can share just a bit more

To have a Doctrine and Philosophy is for when you need it. It can be like Honor or Devotion. We can say we have it but when push comes to shove, how do the Jedi act? We are not Cinematic Jedi by any means and although our symbols and honor have the same flow, there is a difference between Cinematic Jedi and Jedi today.

Kata is a key factor to some forms. Your participation depends on your willingness to reflect as far as you like. Why do we have a Doctrine and why do we teach it so freely? It is for the Jedi. It is our Kata or our flow. Memorize your Doctrine and apply it as you see fit. Use it. This is ONE way to make changes. Change what's in your mind by placing good Philosophy and Doctrine there. Examine it before you put it in your heart. Will you really use or need it?

We as Jedi do not forget our Oaths and word.


Todays is a reminder that we need Doctrine and Philosophy in our lives

It is EQUALLY as important to be careful and mindful of where we get our MYTH from too

As a point of study, I often tell people that in every Myth we find, there is a ORIGIN story from where it hails and the original story itself can be found and validated

thats the truth , but that doesn't mean they are NOT for edification.

It is said a Knight is known by the codes they keep.

Good time zone and good day Jedi everywhere.

Our Code and Codes we choose say something about us. Some Codes are not penned or even recited but are considered known. See, the thing about a Code is it is it can be a reference point to fall back on. Codes can be reminders of what we choose as well. Wehn life gets full and we lose our path, fall on a Code or recite one. Repeat it out loud. SAY IT. Some days, the only way we will know things is if we say them or remember that we DID choose to be like this or like that. Our Codes can create a central hub of ideas we can count on. Heres the dilly yo, can you count on your Code(s)?
Are the Codes we as Jedi keep, worthy? That would be up to you but here is a kicker, do they actually work?

When you need them, are they there for you and do they lift you up or always break you down? Does your Code(s) make you what you are seeking? Did you choose the right one?

To sanctify someone or something is to set that person or thing apart for the use intended by its designer.

How do we sanctify the HUMAN PERSON?

How do we set people aside for better ? Why should we? What's the benefit or what is the YIELD of doing this?

I have a upset stomach from all my celebrations lol Todays message and meditation is INHERENT WORTH

how do you give such a EQUAL mark to one another ?

How do we as Jedi believe in the Force and the sanctity of life and everything in it

This is a very big hug or idea we can hand out and even recite

I think of INHERENT WORTH as a hug some days lol a hug fro the people

but in the human potential of things- we are all Inherently equal

this pisses some people off

It used to piss me off I will tell you that

Every one has the SAME potential

is that upsetting? I was brought up in ways that actually are very selfish and regret others getting ahead and finding things out thought me.

If it wasn't me first then it was I was last and I couldn't have that

This is natural and even a part of our human development

We as Jedi make it a habit and a area of focus that we can change this

As Jedi, and as humans, we change change any habit or routine we so desire

We can choose any from or choose any Elder we like

We can grow in the same pants we do not grow in

The sanctity of all life within in the Force is a idea that we are all connected by so much more than just presence

and we acknowledge that and honor that relationship

Courage helps with things but for the most part, what are we giving others?
Are we giving out brooms where most need water...

The Mentor path is a odd one
We can help one another out by our own actions by what we find out and reflect for ourselves

But some people may not need what we got or have learned.



When we help others - what are we truly trying to help with?

We can only mentor those who have been down the path WE HAVE gone

This is where Understanding and Harmony and PEACE come in

People NEED but what do they NEED?

I lay this before every Jedi here and not here yet, We want to help but what are we offering?

Is our understanding about our "help" or our Selfless path ... really about others or about what WE can do ???

Its a thin line some days

Not every one wants what we find all the time and most time what we find, Is only meant for a few and never the MASSES

It is by OUR ability

it is by OUR able-ness that we can help

This is why it is so important to understand things better and to study Doctrine and Philosophy


Some encouragement ISN'T for everyone because not every everyone has the same focus at the same moment

We are all on different paths and levels at any given time

Qui Gon Jiin said " Your focus determines your reality. " in Episode One

No truer has anything been said in the Jedi world.

MAKIA is a old word in my own culture use to remind us " Energy goes where attention flows"

its Hawaiian and old. You will find that in almost every culture, they remind you of your reality.

In the world there is a IDEA that what we FOCUS on is what's up.

Thats where all the attention goes and that's where our reality can be set

What are we focused on today Jedi and O Hana?

because it matters

it matters so much ...

that we can even ...

USE our own FOCUS to prune our own path.

This is taken from the 3 TENETS.

Focus is the art of pruning the irrelevant and pouring the best of your mind into what you are doing.

This is how we can find actual KNOWLADGE.

and keep WISDOM and know the difference between it all

by OUR focus

but how....is always the big Q or the big question.

Our FOCUS is our goal and our flow.

To a Jedi, the "selfless path" is common.

Hubris can be a focus that can change things for us as well.

Knowing what and who we are helps seek things out too

Thats one of the perks and pitfalls of the HUMAN POTENTIAL.

but that can be to us to decide where it goes, our FOCUS

By "pouring the best of your mind into what you are doing" we can change the outcome every time

we can save the day as equally as "shit the bed" in the same breath.

There were even times I failed and succeeded at the same time in different levels of my own path (edited)

Where we look and where our FOCUS is can determine much and does

to the point of even cultivating something more

So today Jedi, do not think that the energy you give to your Jedi path isnt worth it

IT IS SOOOOO WORTH IT

We choose to unite under the banner of Jedi

We dont have to be here, no one does

Today is the benefit of Doctrine

There is a PEACE to knowing who and what you are and why

It is like a fire

I want to encourage every Jedi to KNOW YOUR OWN doctrine and your own philosophies.

If you do not...the old saying is "If you dont stand for something you will fall for everything."

Being AWARE that we are not only ONE PART but 3 and that our MIND BODY AND spirit need EQUAL attention some days can be a focus we share.

There is a PEACE some do not know from knowing who and what and why they are.

It can be passed and shared.

I want to encourage every Jedi to believe in the In the POSITIVE influence of spiritual growth and awareness on society.

Any one can be a jerk or a troll or even a objector to anything


Something to think about this week friends and Jedi

We as Jedi believe in the spiritual growth and awareness ON society ...

and how?

Do we share that PEACE with others ?

You can know thyself

We can know our mind body and spirit

We do not have to be....in the DARK all the time

Shed some light on things and seek that which you need.

There IS a peace you can have and know by understanding your own faith

Ours happens to be Jedi ism

There is a peace that comes with it all on its own and specifically for each of us individually.

My hope is we find it and KEEP it and share it

Peace is a lie to those who have yet to find it or knew it in the past and do not have it presently.

It is NOT KNOWN to some like the dark side of the Force

Off screen, the known and unknow can be found

It is my hope that as Jedi we find our own faith and our own peace

There is a presence that we often do or act as ... when we are Jedi.

There is no doubt about that.

We are Jedi and there are certain ....

ideas that can come with that. (edited)

One of the things I have found in this world is that people tend to think Jedi are superheroes.

They fly and wield power no one can.

This could not be further from the truth.

As Jedi, we are human first,

which means we have human tendencies.

Some Jedi have tendencies to ... present moral or character that is NOT present.

Integrity matters

We are reminded that we can be constant in our own practices and our own studies.

We strive to not be fake.

Being "fake" is the idea to STRAY away from.

In this world, there is a presence that can be simulated and one that is present.

What we do and what we say CAN line up.

I find people who say in all honesty - " I cant be a Jedi because I don't know what it is "

The idea here is to be that which you are all the time

Lies are not what we as Jedi seek.

Lies hurt every one involved.

Keeping things in the dark or unknown is what we recommend we NOT do.

As a Jedi -and as HUMANS - Integrity is everything.




Everything we do here on the Temple is on our word.

On our HONOR.



It matters.

Things we do as Jedi or in the name of the Jedi matter.

At all times.

It matters what you read or listen to.

Those things matter.

Keeping those things and being a representative of someone who strives for things like this is what our Jedi integrity is all about.


Being A Jedi when no one is around or being some one OTHERS can count on can be a common goal we hold.

Hypocrisy is a Jedi's worst enemy.

The funny thing is that most Jedi I meet off screen have a really ...

real sense of intuitively thinking about things.

Jedi think.

AND most can tell by simple Human elementary that some people are fake.

This never gives anyone liberty to harm another,

if anything, AID is needed more than harm.

In every sect or organization and organized Faith - there is always a warning

Dont be fake.

Dont lie.

Dont lie to each other, if you do you most likely won't be trusted.

It is always up to us HOW we are to act.

It up to use to lie or tell the truth.

Lies will get ya, every time.

Humans forget. "IT'S A TRAP!"

I want to encourage Jedi everywhere to HAVE YOUR DOCTORINE ready and handy.

Know what you know.

Study it.

Memorize it if you like,

but have it.

Humans are mind body and soul- you got 3 different spaces to keep things like this in so...

Place it where you need it.

Be consistent.

Set yourself up,

and whatever you do, do it with diligence.

We will forget

but we have each other

Figure out a way.

Life is full but do what you do and keep doing it.

its almost second nature to have the draw to be of SOME type of assistance to our fellow humans

Most Jedi have this actual want or direction to HELP others

We want to help others so bad we even do it to the best of our ability

We need courage

I think of the Cowardly lion in a way

and harmony

can come from courage.

How does one have courage ?

With so much available how do you figure out which and what is harmony and understanding and PEACE? where do we find peace as Jedi ?

as we tune and hone our skills of relationships and connections and life, we can become useful in more ways

How do we as Jedi balance wanting to help and not precipitating events around us? It seems to me, especially in the current state of the world that if you have the courage and ability to act that you are going to bend the world around you. Intentionally or not.
We are given our teaching and reminders for things like this

each teaching reminds us of the IMPORTANCE of what and HOW we do things

in our teaching it reminds us we are human and have limits

knowing full well we are not spacecowboys or Floating wizards ... we are human we can develop our being as we choose

You have to know where your limits are

This is one of the CHIEF examples of why the Star Wars can be much more than lights and sounds and cool gear

This is very much where I am feeling lost. How do I bring peace to the world around me without acting? If I act am I precipitating events and even shaping the world by my will. Or is it the will of the Force?
