Star Wars Guessing Game

Here's another forum game that we can play - related to Star Wars (which is always fun!)
Star Wars Guessing Game

Rules:
1) The first person describes something Star Wars related. (Be mysterious!)
2) The next people try to guess what it is.
3) The first person should "thank you" (blue button) whoever guesses right.
4) Then, a different person describes something Star Wars related.
Etc.

*Rules might be edited as the game progresses, on a need basis.

For example....

I'm a hostile planet filled with furry, carnivorous monsters. I used to have smugglers and bounty hunters on me, but now I have rebels. Oh, and I'm covered in ice

What am I?

I'm starting to think these games should be discouraged, though...there are some people whose post counts are being majorly boosted by repeatedly posting in them, and I think that some culprits are well aware of that and are doing it on purpose...

I'll refer to your final decision on the matter. However, I personally don't see any issue with this game. Is there a problem with having a high post count?

Not a problem as such...it's just that I sense that a few people are purposefully using these games to accumulate posts, and in doing so they're kinda missing the point...

Which is all very well if eventually they learn the lesson about quality, not quantity...only I'm not sure that that lesson actually is always being learnt.

So it's not people's post counts that concern me (as post counts are fairly irrelevant to...well...everything) so much as whether a few people are actually taking the wrong message away from participating (i.e. "I can use the game to make my post count will go up" rather than "I'll just enjoy playing the game and take part in the game as and when the mood takes me").

I wouldn't (and couldn't) ban the games, you don't need to worry about that...I was just kinda thinking out loud...

Get sensei ren to make some SQL to count the post number in the game threads for each poster and deduct it from the user!! LOL, that'll get em. Sounds too tricky for me to write offhand though.

This had crossed my mind too, honestly, for my own post count went up by quite a lot during the Word Flow game (I am a poet, after all ...), but then I noticed that most of us taking part in the games are in fact the same ones of us participating seriously in the forum discussions -- you, myself, Sean, Sajjad, RyuJin, Proteus &c ... Have we actually noticed other members who do not post making use of the games to "boost" a count that really doesn't earn anything ? It is just the site counting 'things' really.

Secondly, on the question of quality, I surely prefer seeing a convivial participation in a game than languishing through some of the 1500-word essays we've seen in forum "disputes" which go on for 27 pages (as opposed to forum 'debates' -- of course I'm exaggerating, but you know the ones I'm on about here), or the relentless Sith/light-dark discussions or whether we are going to build a temple building ...

And in regard to the post count in game thing, you can sort of tell quickly what sort of person they are by visiting their account, for example, mine is mostly game play at the moment, (not looking too good there i guess, ) but in my defence my account dosen't show what I've looked at in TOTJO and enjoyed reading. I might not post in the serious decussions but it doesn't mean i and others don't look at all at them!

It was the b wing fighter....although ....you did sneak in two guesses in one post....I wondered how many would think of slave 1...

As to post count.....I don't even pay attention to it

To be honest, Ryu, with regard to the post count (although what I said was true -- I did think about that), it was just sort of to kick V's mickey a bit. All in good fun, to be sure ...
