I found cutting caffeine out had a big effect for me. Now I'm not reliant on it getting up in the morning is easier, I don't get cravings for caffeine, and gently I'm more awake.

Like Edan, I cut out caffeine a while back and have felt better in general. Some time after that, I dropped my sugar intake significantly and began eating healthier, which increased my energy even more.

Daily exercise will definitely improve your situation. And if you regularly drink alcohol or use recreational drugs, cutting back on those habits will help with energy levels as well.

Obviously, sleep is good too. :)

Walking is another great way to increase your energy. I walk for about an hour a day, often using the time to listen to podcasts or audiobooks. It's a simple way to improve the way you feel, and it offers pretty immediate results. Might be worth trying, even if some of the other suggestions end up working for you.

Vitamin B12 <--- do make sure you have food on your tummy before you take this. It can give hot flushes....

Vitamin D <-- Most important. These days the average person dosn't get enough sunlight due to school, jobs or if you live in Michigan like I do - Cloud & Canopy Cover. Sunlight gives your body Vit D...Without it, your energy is useless. So either get proper sunlight or take the pill. For my weight at 175lbs I take 5000ml Doctor prescribed and bought off the shelf of my local wal mart

Magnesium

Potassium

> Research your Intake amount for each pill to your weight.

I also take Zinc, MSN & Vit E

That stash does WONDERS for me.....when i remember to take them lol XD

There are ways of getting these without pills. Vitamin D, for example, can be found in fish, as can vitamin B12.

You also would have to eat ALOT of the fish and foods to reach the Intake amount you need to fulfill your goals. Supplemental Pill's is not a bad thing :) just my personal opinion though. I try and eat healthy all the time....I rarely reach the required needs of what i am deficient at.

Much like getting Vit D from the sun. I get alot of sunlight and outside time....but because its often cloudy here it is not the right amount and proper exposour of sun needed to give me the energy I require. The pill however works wonders ^_^ Fro me. Beautiful thing about health is....it is different for everyone. We are not cookie cutter Jedi here after all :)

I think a balance of everything is best. I sit next to a window at work that faces south, so I don't need any pills.

The only thing I do take is Ferrous Sulphate at a ridiculous dosage, but that is for something different entirely

are you talking about increasing physical energy, mental energy, or spiritual energy?

eating healthy
meditation
plenty of sleep
exercise

if you need a really quick boost that's short lived you can try an energy drink called "extreme shock"....a bit of a warning though...it's extremely potent...when i use it my skin flushes, and feels like its on fire...while it's working my focus is razor sharp and i go into super saiyan god mode, but the effects are short lived (about 15mins for me)....the stuff kind of scares me so i rarely take it.... i prefer to use the methods above...

I am talking about physical energy.

I do eat healthy as I eat mostly fruit and chicken, it is hard to eat hard to eat fish more than once a week because of its high mercury content but I do take fish oil.
I was unaware that vitamin D helped but I will start taking it again and I do take vitamin B-12 pills but I am I am going to ask for injections.

I try to avoid energy drinks because my uncle use to drink them all the time and he died heart attack.

I want to thank you all for everything you have posted and may the force be with you all.

Injections ftw. MUCH better than pills... I only can get them in the summer (due to living situation and stuff), but I love them to death!

the biggest drain on most peoples energy is self reflection and self fixation

brooding and ruminating and having serious important thoughts and opinions exhausts us to frailty in no time

unselfconscious laughing and good natured playfulness and generally being in an easy and light hearted mood energizes us and also most everybody that is around us as well

People are complicated.

I agree with the laughter playfulness because it releases endorphin but your comment on important thought and opinions is a load of crap. If no one ever put important into anything then the Wright brothers never would have invent the airplane, Einstein would never come up with the theory of relativity and physics as we know it today, George Lucas would have never made Star Wars hence this religion would not exist, and the computer you are using right now would not exisist.

Without deep thought women would not have rights, African Americans would not have rights, Columbus would not have sailed for India and found the new world, we would still think the Earth was flat and the center of the universe.

In short by fallowing that philosophy a person would become mentally underdeveloped and will most likely never succeed at anything because they will not put true effort into it.

May the force be with you

Ken, you appear to have misunderstood ob1's comment. I think he was relating the fatigue with stress.

Stress levels increase with the pressures we place on ourselves when having these deep and important thoughts. As I'm sure we are all aware, the adrenaline we get from that level of worry is a great energy boost short-term (though not always beneficial I.e. sleepless nights etc) but we always come down. That come down is worse the longer we maintain a high level of stress. So like ob1 said, constantly ruminating and self reflecting/questioning will run you down in the long-run.

While the stress and worry is essential to progression as you pointed out, it's not great for your health long-term, especially with regards to energy. We have no idea of the energy levels or coping mechanisms of those great people you mentioned, yes they achieved great things but could have been complete wrecks majority of the time.

When I took part in a psychological study at college re stress, the results said I should have died a few years prior lol! So it is down to each person's thresholds and coping abilities.

I'm afraid I have no info re physical energy aids as I've failed to find anything that works for me, so I shall follow this thread with much interest lol :)

If Einstein is the example of advanced thought? Is it possible he used meditation as a means?

you seem to have very important opinions ken and you take them very seriously

i can tell you with absolute certainty that your opinions are exhausting

im tired of them already lol

i bet you had to take a nap after you wrote that

it could be that youre too young to notice how much of drain your opinions are - be careful; youre a drain to yourself and everyone else right now; imagine how youll be in twenty years!

you might not even make it, but if you do you will be the oldest man in the world!

its very demanding to be so important

He must have done something to calm his mind, might not have been a traditional meditation but must have done something to help focus etc.

I find that most people do something meditative naturally that helps calm them or helps them concentrate :)

Dude you are making it really hard to apologize to you but if what Phoenix said is true than I am very sorry for the misunderstanding.
To address this letter, I am not an important man or a rich man or a powerful man I just try to be a happy man and live my life healthy and on those two subjects are the only things I ever have important thoughts on.
I a 30 so if I join the force at 50 or earlier or later it is when I am meant to and I will accept that and be happy with it no matter what the cause.

again I am very sorry for the misunderstanding and I hope you accept my apology but I will understand if you do not.

may the force be with you.
