New Year's Resolutions was created by
So, a lot of people have mixed reviews of Resolutions. They are good goal setting tools, but they are also oft failed.

Thoughts on your past successes and failures?

Also, any you're taking up this year?

I've got a big one. And, it's to finally be knighted (at IJRS), and maybe here too. But, i've been training at IJRS for five years now. Hahah. In order for me to take on my trials, i need to lose about 100 pounds.

My plan:
1. Just do it.

Lol.

I mean, anything else is just an excuse after excuse not to do it. Life is short, and i'd rather spend the rest of it healthy than the rest of it in pain.

I can't remember the last time I actually mantained a new year's resolution. The closest thing I have is a personal defined-term goal of losing ten pounds before the 7th of January.

A hundred pounds is a great goal, Connor. I've lost around forty since August.

Institute for Jedi Realist studies.

Kind of like this place, but much quieter.
Non-religious emphasis.
Full academy-style program. With courses and the like.

This coming fall, I'm going off to college for the first time! However, before you ask me where, let me just tell you that I haven't made it close to any decision yet, so don't bother with that.

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to immerse myself in college successfully. Make worthwhile friends, join enjoyable clubs, and get good grades. And no, I will *try* :woohoo: not to start drinking alcoholic beverages. (Although this might be inevitable.)

Tao Te Ching 16

Empty your mind of all thoughts.
Let your heart be at peace.
Watch the turmoil of beings,
but contemplate their return. Each separate being in the universe
returns to the common source.
Returning to the source is serenity. If you don't realise the source,
you stumble in confusion and sorrow.
When you realise where you come from,
you naturally become tolerant,
disinterested, amused,
kind hearted as a grandmother,
dignified as a king.
Immersed in the wonder of the Tao,
you can deal with whatever life brings you,
and when death comes, you are ready.

That about sums it up for me ...

:)

Be a philosopher ; but, amidst all your philosophy, be still a man.
~ David Hume

Chaque homme a des devoirs envers l'homme en tant qu'homme.
