Prayer, God(s), the Force, and all that.

Hey, I was wondering, how many of you pray? And if so, to whom? Do you have a specific god(dess) you pray to, or do you pray to the Force, or perhaps you just start talking, and don't have a specific being/force/etc in mind?

Personally, I pray to the Gnostic goddess Sophia, and today I have started praying to Christ as well (again, more the Gnostic Christ than the Orthodox). Also, while I do not "pray" to the Force, I do sometimes "dive" into it in my meditation, simply letting go and allowing the Force to flow through me.

I don't do formal prayer, no. I do believe in the Force and in some type of Supreme Grand Master Jedi (for lack of a better way of explaining it) - but I don't have either, or perhaps I have both in mind when I do my version of praying. I normally do my version of praying immediately after meditation.

I like that. "Supreme Grand Master Jedi." It's slightly amusing, but also an interesting way to look at a deity (I assume you are referring to deity here. If I am wrong, many apologies).

I pray, but it's not specifically directed, more of a generalized invocation for the powers higher than myself and within myself to aid me in my journey. The force within and around, I guess you could say. I'm actually working on a type of ritualized prayer at the moment, when I finish and master it I'll try to upload a video.

I would be very interested in seeing that video.

My goal is to have it up by the end of next weekend

haha Yeah - that's exactly what I mean. I don't think I've gotten into the essence of what I actually believe in here, to be honest. But that's a brief bit of it, anyway.

In my eyes, praying is the same as a self-affirmation. In my beliefs, I am my reality and my reality is me. So when I wish for something good to be or to happen, all I need is to intend it, and this can be done in various ways - meditation, simple contemplation, writing it down somewhere, sleep dreaming or even day dreaming. If the idea (not just words) and the feeling that idea gives, runs through the mind and the actual intention is real and clear, then it can happen, through whatever way/means that it can manifest, be it by outside chance, or by making you feel motivated to get up and turn that idea into action yourself. This is pretty much a universal action given different names for different religious cultures.

Haha, well, I didn't ask for your whole belief system Just if you prayed, and if so, to whom. Although, I would love to learn about all your beliefs, if you're a pure Jedi, or if you walk a syncretic path,etc. But that's not the topic of this thread, lol.
