Curious, trinity? was created by
I was wondering, why do we have the trinity symbol on our front page? I know the symbol has been used for many things over a long time, but what is its meaning here?

Okay, I am not clergy, but my guess is Focus, Wisdom, and Knowledge combined in the one Force...

Three is a VERY sacred number that has appeared in odd ways throughout history, and to many peoples. The trinity symbol appeared long before there was even written language. In some cultures, the device has been referred to as the Trefoil.

To me: It represents the importance of the Three Pillars of Jedi Strength, which Marela so intuitively touched on earlier. However, it could have much deeper meanings.

This is the THIRD major Jedi Site that I have poured energy into.

There are always three sides to a story.

Celery, Onion, and Garlic are called trinity in the culinary arts (yum)

I practice a sword/knife method that revolves around points in threes, or triangles of criticality.

So, I must say that although three may certainly play a very important role in the world around us, that perhaps it is we that seek the answers so diligently, that we just happened to notice it more in our studies...

Perhaps someone could build on this but three as in three sides of a triangle. The triangle is the strongest shape, it has no weak points (or less than other shapes).

Perhaps the Trinity of Three is telling us to be strong?

Another possibility is perhaps we should remember these three things about being a Jedi: The Creed, The Code, Ourselves.
Master those three things and we will be very strong.

Three could be described as a universal number, a key...

1. God's attributes are three: omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence.

2. It is a symbol of the unity of body, mind and spirit.

3. The three great divisions of time--past, present, and future.

4.The three kingdoms of creation:mineral, vegetable, and animal.

5. The three goddesses: Persephone (virgin), Demeter (mother), Hecate (grandmother).

6. Human expression; thought, word and deed.

7. Divine perfection: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

8. Perfect shape: Egyptian Pyramid; Hebrew cube (defined by 3 sides)

9. Gifts of Grace: faith, hope, love.

10. Three Primary Colors - using the three primary colors all other colors can be produced including white

11. The surface of the earth - is one third land, two thirds water.
