Brothers and Sisters of the Force,
Br John, Grand Masters,
I received an e-mail this morning from The Order of the Jedi (www.orderofthejedi.ca), a Canadian Order of which I am a member. I would like to invite anyone or more so, the temple Admin staff to log in their website or contact Master Zen directly regarding a ‘first contact’ of sorts.
This is not a recruitment drive. It’s an invitation to look at another Jedi organization interested in hearing from other Jedi organizations and Jedi in our community.
I humbly submit the body of my e-mail for your perusal
Dear Lenny
Welcome there are big changes coming.

Going Global
During our first AGM we discussed the possiblity of going Global. That's right worldwide. As a member of the Order of the Jedi, we need your input. There comes a time when we must grow beyond our boundries, and accept that in order to progress to where we want to be we need to move forward. This may include the discussion of those members who call themselves the \"sith\", or in better terms, those who believe in the force, yet have a different view to our own.
TIme to Unite?
Has the time come for us to unite the members of Jediism worldwide? Is now the time to gather all those who believe in our ways? Do we start down a path that we believe in, and have the flexibility and confidence to move forward as a global movement? Also the biggest question of them all, on the brink of receiving our charatible status, which will leave us only 8 weeks away from full recognition... do we encompass all those who are willing to follow, even if they decide to break off into thier own sect later on.
The growth and stability of the Order depends on members worldwide for unification, donations, and participation.
Jedi Needs
After the Sudden loss of a great member and asset to the Order, we are currently finding ourselves struggling to keep the pace of what we believe should be constant progress. Master Zen cannot do everything in regard to us moving forward, we need Donations, we need participation, we need members submissions. Most of all we now need, Administrators, organizers, web specialists, and many other positions. We ask ALL members to forward what their skills are, as we need to move forward in a steady progression towards recognition. Master Zen, although he leads us is only one person, and without the support of all of us, will not succeed in recognition in a timely manner.
MS Society of Canada
We would like to say this is an absolute must for our growth, yet we do not wish for anyone to participate if they are uneasy with doing so. On August 21st, 2009, the Order of the Jedi will be partaking in the 3rd annual Ms Society Scholarship fund golf Tournament. As an Order we would love for this to be our first public appearance, as it will involve radio, tv, and newspaper ads. WE need your participation, and to make it easier, you may represent yourselves either as a collector for the MS Society of Canada, in accordance with the Order, or as a member of the Order alone. We have been able to obtain permission from the MS Society, in Order to increase our goals and in order for us to have our first public exposure a sucess. There are more than 300 full members within our Order in our first year, and if we could all raise $500, it would make a huge inpact not only for the MS society but also for our Order. All donation over $20 are taxc deductible, and we would really appreciate your participation in this. Please email info@orderofthejedi.ca for more information and a donations sheet. Last year Master Zen was able to raise $3200 by himself, and the tournament was a huge success, with $28000 being raised for MS. This year we would like to raise $10,000-30,000 just from the Order alone, imagine if through our families and friends, and their work (place of employment) if we could each raise $500 by August we would donate more than $100,000 to a great cause and secure our place on the map, and bring a great exposure to the Order through different media. No Matter what you can do, donations, prizes, volunteering, it is all important.
LET US MAKE THIS THE FIRST OF MANY GREAT THINGS TO COME!
Master Zen's Thoughts
Greetings fellow Jedi memnbers. I would first like to appolgise for the lack of external progress and updates to the members area of the website. My own job has been hectic and left me with little time to update the site, as there are many things internally that I have been dealing with (including governmental issues and Lucasfilm). This has been a slow period for us, and it is unexcusable. I will work hard with my available resources to update the site within the next week.
I would like to touch on all the items that are listed in the newsletter to allow yo my point of view on these issues.
Going Global. It is time? There are many trials that we must go through in our growth period in order to progess to where we need to be. One of these items is to gather all Jedi across the world to unify the world and our beliefs. When we are successful in doing so we will have to have an open mind as to how we grow, yet stilll keep our main core values intact.
Time to unite? This question is based on your feedback, we have more than 300 full members and more than 4400 mailing list members who will help us grow, however with over 500,000 people claiming Jedi in their census, we have yet to tap even 1% of the Jedi population. IS now the time to stand out and progress to the point of global unity?
Jedi needs? Well there are many thing I can say about this. The biggest of them all is participation, with over 300 members, we need to have all members participate. At the moment it is costing me $217 dollars a month to keep the order running, at current pace I might as well be going all out on my own, however at years end, without donations the Order will forfit it's status and become nothing more than a website, as no memebr is allowed to contribute more than 50% to the Order, hence our need for growth. If each member donated $2 a month, we would not only sustain our growth , we would also be able to move forward.
MS Society? Last year although it was not part of the Order I was able too raise between $3000-$4000, just by networking with friends and family, and their workplaces. This year the Order of the Jedi will be sponsoring 2 hole in ine Cars, worth over $20,000 each for the tournamnet. However with the help of all of our member we would also like to present a cheque for a minimum of $10,000 dollars (less than $100 each), This opportunity will only come this time unless we succeed. Available for free are radio, t.v. and newspaper exposure on a grand scale. The success is up to you. We also need 4 volunteers for that day, Aug 21st 2009. in Milton Ontario. The volunteers will be on a first come first serve basis. Also if anyone woul like to participate in the Golf Tournament, it is $200 per person or $150 a person if you have a foursome. Oh and did I mention Billy Talent (Canadian Rock Band [7 Juno Awards]) willl also be there. THis is our first real test, and will determine how far we have really come. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
Lastly, it is with great respect and honour, that I have to announce the resignation of Master Akira, for personal reasons. As Jedi we respect the choices that one makes whether we agree with it or not.
May the light of the Force guide you and be with you , always.

I've corresponded with Master Zen and I'm delighted to help anyway I can. They are only the second Jediism Church to incorporate in the world and the first in Canada.
I urge all our Canadian members to join and all members to at least wish them well.
