Following my recent blog entry on Swine flu - I thought Id better create this thread for people to post replies/comments etc.

Also - if you find or hear recent/new updates/information of n the situation, please spread the word (excuse poor choice of terms) here - but we DO NOT need multiple versions of the same thing, lets keep it clear n relatively easy - we dont need 20 links all showing the places where peple have come down with the illness.

The Government's Citizen Corps website has quite a bit of information on their website

http://www.citizencorps.gov/

Here is another website

Another great program that the government has through FEMA for emergency management and citizens is the Independent Study Program (ISP). You can take courses dealing with various emergency/disaster situations and even receive college credit or CEU's. Here is a link to the ISP page:

I would encourage everyone to take IS-22 Are You Ready? An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness

A little background, I was involved extensively in Emergency Response as a volunteeer through an Amateur Radio organization as well as being Second in Command of a multi-county Search and Rescue group.
