TOTJO Organizational Convention is Open
OK Jedi and Sith; I hear you. The Epistle to The Sith is VOID. All the resignations of The Sith are VOID. The office of Chaplain is vacant.
All I am doing now is keeping the site up and running and keeping us legal as a corporation. Other than that I ABSTAIN.
You want a true democracy - you got it.
Every single member Jedi and Sith have one vote each irrespective of rank or how long s/he has been a member. If you want a council elect one. You need to elect a Chairperson and Secretary for the convention. Write a Constitution for TOTJO. Make up all the rules yourselves. Elect all the officers yourselves. The persons in office now shall hold office until their successors are elected and qualified.
Here is your fresh start with a blank page. I am not involved, will not vote and above all don't come to me with complaints or problems unless it's an issue with the site. It's not my job anymore.
SO ORDERED

OK, here it is,
So you the members need to decide who you wish to see in the various positions, on council(s) etc etc etc
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT CLEAR HERE AND NOW I DO NOT WISH ANY ROLES IN ANYWAY AND I AM POSTING THIS TOPIC TO SORT THIS OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
This is your temple, EVERYONE has an equal right to voice their opinions, that also includes anyone who isnt a 'sworn jedi or sowrn sith etc' ANY member ie if you have a user account has an equal right to voice an opinion
I personally propose an interim council of 'Masters and Knights and members of the clergy' to form an emergency action group in order to facilitate a somewhat more organised transition into any new structure.
These members are also invited to put themselves forward if they so wish, nobody should feel forced or obliged in anyway, it should be totally of ones own volition.
Please, this is your temple, you all know what needs to be done.

I am not mad for power but...I think apprentices should hold some kind of say in the Temple. IF theres going to be a Council, I think there should be an apprentice representative to Speak for the Apprentices like me and many others. After all, this did hit us apprentices and our training very hard. Now, again, i'm not in this for power, and I really wouldn't have any anyway, but if there is a council, I would like to represent the Initiates and Apprentices on it.

It is but i feel i must reiterate, what i propose is an emergency interim council to bash out the next steps.
The initiates, the apprentices the knights, the masters, the regular users, the clergy, every member will be taken into account
For now, we need a straight crisis team... akin to post major real world disaster.
No one will be left out of behind, so with the younger members in mind, I propose the following
All masters who were masters before this last weekend (and thus anora covers the younglings and initiates)
All Cardinals, Bishops and arch bishops (some overlap with the above)
Some Knights - So Firewolf, and 4 or 5 others
This should give at least 12 members of this emergency council (on assumption all the above wish to participate) of which a chairman etc etc can also be selected
Of course, if you wish to have an initiate/apprentice on this panel I nominate ezekio (sorry, with no disrespect, i feel this is a job for an over 18 year old)
So ive made my nominations for an emergency council

well, I'm a new Knight, and I don't want to impose, but I have to say I have some experience in matters similar to from high school. not quite the same scale. I'm not looking for power or prestige or anything of the kind, like I've said, titles and such don't mean a thing to me. but, if asked to serve, serve I will, so I put myself forward as one of those Knights

A council is fine to assess and determine the best way to keep out temple healthy. Keep in mind as well that 95% or more of what we have here is still viable. Lets make sure we don't go redesigning the wheel to the point that it no longer turns.
Change can be good, but change just for the sake of change rarely has the effect one hopes for. For now we should alter the minimum we can to effect this transition. From that point we could make a point to discuss and adapt small sections of our base doctrine in turn and at length when minds are calm and thoughts clear.

I would respectfully put forward Master April (Anora^una_Ilorn) to take a council office, if that's what it comes to.

Okey, are we nominating people and having an election now or are we allowing people to step up?
If we are voting who will be doing the counting?
What positions need to be filled at this present time?
How many people on the council or are we nominating one person for now?
With some of the most experience here at the temple i would like to volenteer to help on this council as best i can, at least until we can set up a working democracy. I feel we do need someones to fill in (plural intended). Be the President and staff for Galactica as it were. Big things are happening here and we can't remember where we came from. Put feelings, emotions aside, we are Jedi and as such we have a mission to help all who come here. We have a mission to uphold the very essence of justice, law, democracy, honor, and so forth. We can never forget that. We were founded partially by Br. John and although he has left, and although people have severly dissagreed with him in the past including myself we must not forget what he was aiming for. Even if he slipped up we can not let the sands of this temple fall threw our fingers when there are so many hands to catch it with. So, i feel that a list of offices that need to be filled should be posted as soon as possible have people nominated or step up as soon as possible, then we can go from there. What say you my fellow brothers and sister? We can do this, we need to have patience and determination.

For the sake of stability, I think that there needs to be a temporary council to determine what would be the best way to proceed with elections and determining what kind of leadership is needed.
For simplicity, I would suggest that the current Cardinals and Bishops should be the core members of this temporary council. They have already been recognized as competent leaders, and with a smaller group hopefully it will be easier to establish guidelines for what needs to happen next.
As leaders, the Cardinals and Bishops could receive input from members of the Temple, Knights and Apprentices, with regards to how to proceed. Once this temporary council has decided on procedures they would implement elections/nominations/etc to establish a new base of leadership.
I am NOT suggesting that permanently hand all power over to the Cardinals and Bishops, but if we do not have a temporary council to regulate the proceedings we could get caught in an endless string of elections and debates over how to run the Temple elections.
