Consular

Consular was created by
A Jedi Consular (also called a Jedi seer) was, like all Jedi, skilled in battle, but rarely entered combat, preferring to study the mysteries of the Force.[1] Consulars were the primary scholars and diplomats and seers of the Order, often becoming instructors.[2]
What the Jedi Guardian preferred to achieve by combat, the Jedi Consular achieved by words or the Force. Traditionally, they wielded a green lightsaber, but, like all Jedi, they were free to choose their own color for the blade.[3]
When they attained the rank of Jedi Master, consulars became known as Sage Masters.
Two Sage Masters joined with two Warrior Masters to build the initial Jedi Temple on Coruscant.[4]
You all knew this was comming. Here is my proposition. An opinion was made about a secret police force that branched into a topic of a Group of jedi who would rule as a counsel overseeing people who are on the brink of being banned. I am not saying this would be a formal jedi 'counsel' who rules everything, by any means i would never suggest that for fear of being flamed and bashed, heaven forbid anyone ever do that to little ol' me
. But, regardless, i to see the need for a sort of court system made of a 'Jury' and an executioner. This way things can be organized and orderly and drama can be brought to, hopefully, a minimum.
Also, i have always thought of myself as a consular more than a Guardian as i attempt to be as unbiased and neutral as possible so i would like to be the first on this if it is possible. But, at the same time i also believe that these people would need to be voted into office by our members here. So, post, toss around ideas and talk, talk, talk. I love to hear opinions

An informal council is already in place: chaplain and the cardinals/archibishops. As a consular (or Sage Master) I believe a general consensus is needed, as you said. I do NOT think a secret police should be established however.

just to clarify that from my understanding, there is not currently or a planned future, 'secret Police' or anything like it.
We have SAA dept including a marshal and the SAA's as well as our Public Relations Officer. and as already said, its very rare for action to be necessary but when it is, and the two or three times ive been aware of such things the following is what has happened each time.
Evidence is gathered (so in a hypothetical case, swearing and abuse of the various communications systems on a repeated basis) so in such a case eg in the chat, a moderator can and will caution the offender, as will a chat admin. The incidents are copied to a text file for future reference along with a general list of 'witnesses'. Should the warnings not be enough, then the offender is kicked from chat whilst the matter is looked into.
The person(s) in chat who applied the ban then ask any available senior members of temple staff what should be done on a more permanent basis and these members are thus the 'emergency committee' for the incident.
If the nature of whatever is more serious then it goes higher up the chain.
This 'system' whilst seemingly messy has been effective for the most part, bearing in mind the nature of the internet, it isnt really possible to have a fixed committee and wait for all members to be on at the same time etc, real world commitments, time zones etc etc.
The role of Admin/Mod (be it on chat or for the main site etc) is given to those who it is felt are able to make a just and fair decision as n when necessary
the idea of utilising the fictional jedi system is not necessarily a bad one, but the practicalities as ive discussed could be a problem and sometimes action needs to be taken swiftly and decisively, not often, but occasionally and these times are when ones jedi mind must be used to its full. Clean , crisp, decisive, but just and fair for the benefit of all, and without regret for the decision maker.
I hope this makes sense

This topic was not ment to have anything to do with the 'secret police' this was strictly on the idea that people were banning people of their own accord and i posted this in the hopes that we could set up things so this wouldn't happen any more. So, enough with the secret police already, lol.
That aside what we have set up now is flawed, those who are asked to vote are voting when asked but rarely asked. that is the purpose of this, but due to recent changes with things i have a feeling that this will be revised anyway, nough said
