Those of little focus...

Since i have come to jediism, i have found that many think it is a joke. I am in the army and it is listed on my id tags as jedi for my religion. since i am getting ready to deploy again, many people have seen my id tags and i have discovered that i am the only one out of about 300 people that dont take it as a joke. For those of you that have incountered this type of situation, a simple and easy way to resolve the conflict with others on the military side, it is a military aproved religion. as for me, when i encounter this situation, i just have to realize that those that dont know how of the force, only associate it with star wars and are truly... Those of little focus.

As someone once told me, the Christians faced the same trials early on in Christianity, yet look where they are now.

We are the pioneers of the faith and thus we should be more surprised when we are not mocked for our faith.

At the end of the day, your faith does no one else any harm, be strong in your convictions, others probably share your faith but are somehow afraid to admit it, be brave be bold and lead by example but most of all

the way i always take it is two fold:
1) all religions, and i mean ALL, have been persicuted at some time or another. it's part of life, and society. an unfortunate part true, but still part of life.
2) you know in your heart what the truth is and that's all that matters.

you might also want to mention the constitution says you have the right to be a jedi, and them being military should have respect for that. inform them that all religions (even thiers) instruct love and acceptance for fellow man and inform them they should look into that.

In that situation, I would explain what you're beliefs are, and how they relate to Jediism. I find that when people don't understand something, the best thing to do is explain it to them

But you cant explain to those who do not wish to listen and one must respect the individuals choice to not to listen to you.
