Hello Everyone :)
On wednsday, I got a call from my old job... which is just down the street where I work now. They knew I had lost my cat Freya, and were wondering if I would be willing to take in another cat.
For a few weeks, a cat had taken residence in the building's parking garage. Evidently she was very thin and malnourished, and had no where else to go, as she was there day and night. So they started feeding her, and she started to gain weight, but with the weather getting colder, they didn't want her to be caught in the elements. Not to mention a parking garage is no place for a cat. Not to mention that it is one of the most horrible neighborhoods imaginable. Cars get stolen, people at work have gotten mugged right outside the building... someone (not an employee) got shot right across the street a few months ago... so it wasn't the best place for a cat with nowhere to go to be.
So I was like, of course. So, I went and picked her up. She had no problem with me bringing her home. I brought her home on wednsday, and she made herself quite comfortable right away. She checked everything out, walked around, used the litter-box, and is eating quite well. She loves my dad... she follows him around everywhere. I didn't know what to name her, so my grandfather suggested the name Cindy, so Cindy it is. I took her to the vet, and although a bit underweight she is healthy. She is negative for Feline Leukemia and Aids, and her stool sample was OK. They gave her de-worming medication and her rabies shot and some antibiotics, as it is possible that she may have an infection in her breasts... but if so with the medication she should be just fine soon. She will be an indoor cat, as it is just to dangerous to have cats outside almost anywhere in Connecticut now with all of the Coyotes. My other Cat, Freya, was not alone in going missing... there have been whole neighborhoods where cats have gone missing lately. But Cindy seems OK with that, she is perfectly content to stay inside... So I am happy about that :)

Wonderful news! There is nothing better than getting a new pet/family member, and there definatly isn't anything better than rescuing one!
