Respect and Proper address

I've been trying not to step on toes as I wander the site and I ran across a question that I haven't found addressed.
We have ranks:
pre-apprentice, apprentice, jedi knight, jedi master. Correct me if there are any errors.
And we have titles
Reverend, Brother, Minister...

So when talking to other members, I would assume that it functions something similiar to japanese culture, in which

-there is a general heading for someone below you, or you just use their name.
- members at your level or above are refered to by their title?

So if I were of jedi knight rank addressing Eric Emerson:
pre-apprentice \"Hello Apprentice Eric\"
apprentice \"Hello Padawan Eric\"
jediknight \"Hello brother Eric\"
jedi master \"Hello Master Emerson\"

Feel free to alter this post in order to make it accruate, or reply with the corrections and I will earase my examples.. I just wasn't sure exactly how to ask the question. Clarification?

I'm not sure what to say really because I took the oath, and I pledged..so as far as I am concerned I believe I have the rank of JediKnight...if I am not mistaken....

Then again is there anything on this site that is done up to where you can see someone's rank before you address them so you can do that properly?

Gentleman,
Do not concern yourselves with rank. These are merely Titles. They have little signifigance to how we operate as a church. In fact they are usually simply a matter of Vanity. On the other hand, We do have titles that represent our roles within the church. As an example I carry the title Reverend as a title of station as I believe you do HesinRaca. But again this is merely a title.
Also do not concern yourselves with matters of address. Simply address your fellow Jedi with respect. In doing so you will be following the doctrine of the church and you wil never step on anyones toes.

Definitly, Brother John Actually addressed this in an article a bit ago, the post should realistically just get deleted but apparently I don't have the option to delete my own post?

Its never a waste of time to reflect on past issues. This is a point I would like to Bump. Respect not only to the person but also the peace of our Temple is an integral part of our Doctrine. That includes slanderous speech, derogatory talk and threats.

There is a term that many of you may be familiar with - especially our brothers n sisters who have and continue to serve their respective countries in the armed forces (or even police etc)

'You don't salute the person - you salute the rank'

(My grandfather and my father taught me this but it is also in the Band Of brothers TV series)

So whilst you may not like the person as an individual and may deem them unfit to hold xyz rank - someone somewhere deemed them fit to do so and that in itself should be enough - however - another way to view things - treat others how youd have them treat you - teach through example - with these in mind you raise yourself above crowd.

As Master Jon correctly points out - the over all harmony of all is an integral part of the doctrine and thus the temple as a whole - practice what we preach.
