My Baby is Missing :( was created by
It has been a rough week. My new job is going well, but I am just getting over what was either bronchitis, or exacerbation of my asthma. I finally got the courage yesterday after suffering for a week, feeling like someone had been using my chest as a trampoline, to ask my new boss to take an extended lunch, and stay later to make the time up, in order to make a doctors appointment. I was nervous only because I just started my new job two weeks ago, and am trying to make a good impression. I was blessed that she was very understanding... her answer was \"please do\". (I think it was my symptoms were rather obvious.. a few co-workers before the weekend, hearing me wheeze and being short of breath, tried talking me into going to the ER while I was at work... which as I work at the hospital, is just down the hall).

So, I went to my doctor... she gave me a \"rescue\" inhaler, antibiotics, and had me get a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia, which was negative.

So, 24 hours later, I was on the mend. My chest started to feel a bit better, and I no longer sound like I swallowed a kazoo.

Unfortunetly, because I wasn't quite \"with it\" yesterday morning, it wasn't until I got home from work that I realized an important part of my morning routine was missing...

My cat, Freya, usually greets me in the morning, jumps in my lap and cuddles into me, and I pet her while I have my morning cup of coffee.

Freya had never greeted me that morning...

However, she is an outdoor/indoor cat, so at first I figured she might have gone outside early... or since I smoke downstairs in the basement and have my coffee there... that she decided to stay upstairs in the family room and take up her favorite place on the couch (she pretty much has free reign of the house).

However, even though she does go outside, she usually only stays outside a short while at a time, and stays in the yard, she has never stayed out the whole night... so since I didn't see her again this morning, it's possible she has been missing for over 24 hours, and I don't know where she could have possibly gone...

And it gets worse. Freya had a safety collar on with a tag of her name and my address and phone , a rabies vaccination tag, and the tag with her microchip number. She has worn a collar with tags now for over a year. As luck would have it... she lost her collar a few days ago. I got a new collar for her, but didn't put it on, as I haven't been able to go to get the new tags made up yet.

Please put your thoughts, prayers, positive energy, and such that she may return home safely...

Thanks,

Christina

I admit I am not as huge fan of mogsters (cats) but i do however understand the attachment and bond we form with pets so I truly hope s(he) wanders back in looking for a cuddle and a feed very soon

Christina I am sorry to hear about your cat. I can say with confidence if she is picked up by animal control they scann to see if animals are microchipped. If they recieve the information from the chip they contact you.

But I will also keep her and you in my thoughts.

Well, I have sort of an update.
I had read somewhere that if your cat is missing, to put out some food and bedding so that they can smell it and find their way home.
Well, the food went missing... only the wet food, which is what Freya usually eats first, then save sthe dry food for later.
Also, I had slept downstairs on the couch... the dog didn't make a peep all night... if a strange animal was on our back porch... she would have gone nuts.
The second night, all of the dry food is gone, and again, the dog was fine all night.
So, is this her? I have to wonder... but why would she come home only to have a snack and leave again to trapse around when before this, she barely left the property, or stayed out very long at a time?
It's all very, very weird...
I'll keep you all posted

If the weather is nice cats seem to disappear for longer periods of time, I know mine does quite often. Your baby is probably just enjoying the outdoors right now. The smaller critters are out and hunting is probably good. Have you found any non-living critters in your yard or on the porch, if so it is probably your baby leaving gifts for you.
