i know many of you dont know this but i am a poet and i would like to share some poems with you.

I cannot see beyond the fog
The light is dimmed in my mind
You cannot know my thoughts
My feelings, my dreams
Life is strange to me
Obscure and constricting
Squeezing yet pushing
Taking me out of my norm
I cannot say the thoughts that dwell
Deep in my soul, for they hide
Even from my own eyes
They dwell in the fog
And that is where they’ll stay
Shadow of the Past

A shadow looms behind her, following her steps
She looks back and sees only the past
Continuing with a sense of fear, encompassing her thoughts
Not looking to the sun ahead to brighten her stride
Can the shadow of the past be allowed the premise
The power to control the choices of the now
No one can tell her where to tread, but to ask her
Seek the sun, the warm and bright sun
And it would lead her to a place that she had never seen before
A place of laughter, of joy, of thoughtful gifts
And someone to share it with
The shadow of the past holds much sway over many
But she is strong and has the strength to overcome such darkness
Tangled Webs

I have so much going for me at this time
A plethora of gifts from others
So many people helping me out
Though, for a long time I was unable to see
Most of which I was bestowed
I was oblivious
But much of which that I’ve received
I do not quite deserve
Despite my achievements of the latter
Much of my life was less fruitful
I lied
I cheated
Even stole
I did whatever it took to get what I wanted
Anything to attain my objectives
I’m sorry for these things and others like them that I have also committed
To friends of the past
To acquaintances of the present
I’m a spider walking to my prey
And sometimes I get caught in my own tangled webs
