To me the Jedi way was and is never about preaching or proselytizing. It is more about adapting the character traits and mindset of the doctrine to my life. I have found them to be good for me and my understanding of myself, the Force and my surroundings, I make the world a better place in following and upholding those teachings for myself. What I understand in defending the Jedi way is to be an example for others. As soon as one person re-thinks their actions or decides to take a less harmful way, my mission, to 'defend the faith and all it encompasses' is a success.

What better way to defend an Organization’s vision, than to live up to the standards it espouses.

Show, not tell.

The pessimist complains about the wind;
The optimist expects it to change;
The realist adjusts the sails.
