When this came out I was still living at home with an abusive husband. I was hanging out online with the goth culture (no surprise?) There was a man in there who I had a deep connection with. For some reason I connected this song to him. I suppose it was is dark nature that I associated with this video. I sometimes still feel that connection when I listen to it. I guess I should disconnect that emotional link for myself as it's been a very long time since then. The things we hang onto, eh?

My last love was probably my Last love. It was the hardest relationship of my life. Somehow this band managed to write a handful of songs that captured my circumstances and sentiments exactly. I mean it's as if they had a crystal ball that could peer through time and space, found us, and just wrote what they saw. I posted one already (Little Black Submarines), this is another of those songs.

I used to go by Lady D'Los online, especially in the Energy / Goth communities. The name came from an old poem I wrote a very long time ago, "Dark Lady of Sorrow". It no longer applies to me, thankfully. It is not a name I will use again. But some have associated this song with that username. Again, no longer applies, but it's something I came across while browsing youtube. (irrelevant comment removed)

I was maybe 3-4 when this came out. I never knew the words but from 3 to maybe 7 I would hum myself to sleep with this song in a huge (for me) brown chair. A few years ago I found it again and listened to the words. My thought was "huh, ironic and fitting". In a way it is my theme.
