Hello all,

Following on from my previous project, 'Jedi Perspectives' (in the library), I have something new that I'd like volunteers for.

If you would like to participate, I'd like you to write a letter to a new Jedi, someone who may have just joined the path, or someone who is interested but not yet got their head around it all. What you choose to write about is up to you, but try and keep swearing to a minimum please.

I'd like more than just an email though, I'd like you to sit dOwn and pen the letter straight onto paper and post it to me, the old fashioned way.

The finished publication will then include both a copy of the original letter on one side of the page, and the typed version on the other.

There are three conditions:

1. You consider yourself a Jedi (whether or not you have a rank other than guest)
2. You hand write the letter and post it to me and
3. It is no more than one side of A4 paper (or nearest equivalent)

Whether I get to publish this obviously depends on how many submissions I get but I reckon a minimum of 15 is reasonable. I will not edit anything you write, and you need not write in English.

If you would like to take part, please message me and I'll give you my postal address.

As with 'Jedi Perspectives' it is my intention that this book will be free to share and distribute for and within the entire Jedi Community. If you know any Jedi who are not members of Totjo but might like to take part, please give them the contact details from my profile.

Any questions please ask :)

It won't let me have a blank signature ...

Please don't anyone be put off because of their handwriting... the purpose of this is not to scrutinise your ability to write with a pen... Writing letters is different from writing an email... it's more personal, and you can't go back and edit what you've written so you have to stick with what comes out of your head (unless you screw up the paper and start again!), it also requires you to sit down and think more... you can't just rattle off 500 words in a few minutes and forget to reread.

I'd like these letters to feel personal, but that also means that you have to go through a bit more effort. I hope though that this doesn't mean that I get fewer responses than if I had just said 'email me'... you were all new Jedi once :)

I am actually working on a PDF file of an Old Jedi Gatherings quote book. It was a ringed notepad that was brought to many of the USA Gatherings where we would write, by hand, our thoughts, reflections and favorite things people said during the course of the gathering itself. Over the years....it has developed into a very large (30+) book of quotes and reflections from Jedi.

It is the handwriting that makes it so special. Much of it even I can't read XD haha But it is still really neat to see because it is a kind of proof that these people really did come together and shared in memories. :)

I think this is a great idea Edan, ill send mine in as soon as i can.
