And I'm not talking about on screen Jedi's either. I'm talking about people like us: down to earth, free thinking, loving folks.

To me one person comes to mind: Jeff Bridges.

He is The Dude in real life!

In fact Dudeism and Jedism is pretty similar.

Elon Musk: creator of paypal and space X and tesla motors

hes gained kind of a celebrity status as a result of the influence his business ventures have had

he basically asked himself "what are the areas that will most effect the future of humanity?"

he came up with "the internet, sustainable energy, and space exploration"

He's not around anymore, but I've always believed Thomas Jefferson was a Jedi. As a student of morals and ethics throughout his entire life, Jefferson looked wherever he could to find the inspiration he needed to do what he believed to be right and just. He dedicated his entire life to it. He fought fiercely to separate Church and State in order to prevent a government from using "Almighty God" as a weapon against the people.

He also fought to improve the lives of all people even when it was directly contradictory to his interests at the time. In writing the Declaration of Independence he declared the unalienable rights of all human beings despite being surrounded by rich white men seeking power and being a wealthy land owner himself who relied heavily on slavery to support the economy he was a part of. He was able to recognize that flaw in his own behavior despite being unable to effectively change it in his time. It laid the groundwork for Abraham Lincoln to argue against slavery 90 years later and it continues to be the framework for legal arguments supporting equal rights.

If you ask me, Thomas Jefferson is not only a great role model, but would also make one hell of a great Jedi Knight. Or perhaps he was a Jedi, but he just didn't have the word for it. Either way, he will remain an inspiration to me as I continue my own journey.

Immediately, I think of Keanu Reeves as a Jedi.

He had a tough life, but leads a simple life (no bodyguards, no fancy clothes, etc.). You can find him riding on a subway in New York City - even gives up his seat for others. You can find him sitting on a park bench, eating a sandwich. You can even see him picking up people stranded at the side of the road. He demonstrated generosity, humility, and friendly.

Paul Stanley of KISS. I read his autobiography earlier this year and it blew my mind how Jedi he is.

Thanks for sharing these!! This guy is definitely a personal hero.

We are all the sum of our tears. Too little and the ground is not fertile, and nothing can grow there. Too much, the best of us is washed away. -- J. Michael Straczynski, Babylon 5
