As If Americans Didn't Already Hate the Brits for Petty Reasons...

There's a less-than friendly rivalry between our two nations over a number of things (i.e. Star Trek or Doctor Who) and some of them are pretty petty reasons.

Now, Americans have one more reason to throw English tea off the dock... They just announced Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens will be released a day earlier in the UK , meaning just enough time for all our friends across the pond to start a buzz about the movie but not enough to merit actually traveling to the UK to see it early.

Easy solution: Build bunker in which to hide until Episode VII comes out. lol. I won't be seeing ANYBODY until I'm inside the movie theatre sitting watching the opening crawl.

I swear to God, I will go on a RAMPAGE of mean remarks if somebody spoils this for me. *ultra heavy breathing*

You know, I was going to actually spend money on this movie, but now that I'm going to know everything that happens in it anyway, maybe I shouldn't.

Well... I'm going to pay to see it anyway.

Ok sure but. . . . I mean.... let's be honest with ourselves now. . . .

Theaters have been airing the first showings the evening's before opening days in America for the last like... two or three (?) years anyway.

Pretty certain we'll still get to see it on the evening of the 17th too if we want to.


Besides, I think it said the UAE is getting it on the 15th?!

It's actually opening in the UAE where much of it was filmed I believe on the 15th. It's cool though, I can avoid the entire flippin' internet for a few days. Maybe I'll meditate or discover a new prime number or something.

Try the last one or two decades, I saw all the Lord of the Rings films at their midnight premiere.

You're forgetting the time difference. Brits seeing it on the 17th is the Brits seeing on the 16th from the American side of the world and most of us wouldn't be awake.

Basically the week that Star Wars comes out I'm going to have to avoid the Internet like the plague because spoilers will abound.

Was it Avengers which came out a week earlier here, and the whole internet was impressed we didn't feel the need to spoiler it for you guys? It was some very major film, anyway.

bah, i'll be prowling the torrents if that's the case :evil: ....hopefully my new robes will be complete by the time it releases that way i can hit the theater in style
