"Loki's Wager" and Why Definitions Are Important. was created by steamboat28
This article
discusses why one of the reasons arguments on the Internet never get anywhere is because no one can decide on common definitions. Where've we
heard that before
, again?

One of the modules I'm studying this month is "Philosophy of Language" so I'll try to remember to respond to this when the module is finished and give you my (then better educated) response

That was a cool article
I like most that it gives to example thaT many timez "ancient" cultures were as intellectually sophisticated as any modern MIT linguist may be noam to be
Oh and i agree that clear definiions are mandatory in any serious discussion
However it must be understood also that everyone is not at the same level of ability when it comes to being able to articulate themselves, and its important if we really want to understand each other to not get hung up on definitions to such an extent that badgering about this or that particular stifles progressive dialogue.
The ebb amd flow of idea exchamge should be challenging for sure but it is most beneficial to all imo when it is not wholly combatative
