A Thought on Studies was created by
I started thinking of this thought while I was listening to Message of the Myth. While typing up my understanding in my journal I wondered whether Im understanding what is being talked about. Now I understand that when you write up your thoughts its your point of view BUT I feel like I should be looking the messages in the lessons as a Jedi..

But I suppose its all just about writing down your thoughts of what your hearing so there really is no right or wrong answer to what is being talked about..

Well I would say that many who start the IP (myself included) don't yet think of themselves as Jedi. Part of the journey is understanding how you feel and how you think it relates to being a Jedi.

Some might come to find the 'Jedi within' (if they don't already), some might not and leave.

Don't worry about what it is that you're writing down. In a month, two months, six months, a year... you will probably find that you don't feel the same. Or if you do, you have a better understanding of why. Both these things are good.. they mean personal progress.

Also we all respond to different parts of the IP... you don't get a bit now, it doesn't matter, something else might come that you find much more connection with.

That you're wondering I think is also a good thing, because it means you're not 'sleepwalking' through it.

It won't let me have a blank signature ...

The IP is educational to you, the Jedi... and to Knights and Masters, it is educational about you, the person.

Respond exactly as you see fit. If you disagree, disagree. Your thoughts and your feelings will be different to those of others, unique, insightful, yours alone. As Jedi we honour the paths of each of us... a million kaleidoscopic variations, all one in the Force.

In other words... if you're Jedi, and you're responding, you're already responding as a Jedi :)

I truely am grateful for the insight and will continue on the journey to discovering more about the teachings. Im certainly not trying to just fly through the studies I do take the time..

And I certainly am not seeking to place myself on a level that Im not at yet, because there is a process of seeking for a truth that has to be followed.

As Edan said, you are not "sleepwalking" through, and this is very important....

Every thing offers a lesson in it....

Everything...

If we are paying attention, we may be lucky enough to find it...;)

But, you and I, looking at the same thing, may find different lessons...

Its all good....:)

Jedi ain't Saints....

Tao Te Ching 48

Usually,
we try to learn something new every day.

But if we want to get right with Tao,
we have to let go of something every day.

We do less and less,
until we end up doing nothing.
And it's when we do nothing
that we get the job done.

Let events take their course,
and everything will turn out
in your favour.
If you act on your ambitions,
they will never pan out.

Yes, as MaƮtre Jestor said, the lessons you learn are the lessons you learn. We all learn different ones each time we return to the lessons ... because we are in a different place each time with different lessons to be learnt.

Collaborate with your fellow learners (and we are all your fellow learners).

I feel that coming into this with more then just beliefs but also morals and character that make me who I am reflects some of what it means to be a Jedi and following the teachings of Jediism..

But there is still much to learn about myself as well as improve and the answer is within.

Drako When i write on the lessons I usually apply it to a situation or whatever in life or that is happening in the world.sometimes I get very different things from it then someone else might get and that is just fine. If you learn something new or even just had an experience where you broadened your perspective of what you already knew then that's great.

Hope this helped

I had doubts when I listend to the lessons as well. They were insightful and very interesting. BUT, I did find them difficult to understand or rather difficult to explain in my own words. Do I write what I heard to prove I listened? Do I write my feelings? I went with my feelings and the write ups seemed a little hum drum to me but it was how I felt at the moment.
That being said, my mind is still processing what I heard and even as I sit and write thing the thoughts and ideas are bouncing around in my head and will continue to do so. After I finish the program I plan on going back and listening again. I feel there is a lot more to be discovered from the studies.
So I don't think you are alone in how you feel. I think the studies are a part of the process of becoming a jedi starting at a personal level.
