Not too long ago I was reading through posts and saw that many people had commented and explained what their usernames meant. This was a great way to learn about people as the first thing you see is their username and it can help you understand someone's posts better if you know some back story. That is why I would like to ask what the significance of your signature is. If you feel comfortable sharing then I thank you and If you don't I respect your privacy as these can be personal reasons.

My signature is a quote from DragonBall Z, which is my favorite anime series of all time. The character Son Goku says this the first time he achieves the great power level known as Super Saiyan. He connects with the energy of the universe and his rage helps fuel him, and even though his energy was fueled by his rage, he didn't lose sight of what really mattered, which was returning the balance back to the universe. Son Goku is an amazing fighter in the series but he fights for personal gain, to improve himself and not just to bully others. He always wants to be better than he currently is, purely because he believes that if he stops improving he has no purpose. This is a quality I very much like to emulate, this constant need to keep balance in the world around me, to improve upon myself endlessly and to accept my emotion, but not let it take over.

May the Force be with you,
Rai

Great Idea Rai. Ive wondered about some peoples signatures too.

Mine is the words of a song a friend of mine wrote for her breakout album. I always liked it but never really got it. Until a couple years ago when I was going through some pretty big shifts in my life and the song kind of hit me like a lightning bolt and suddenly became an anchor point for me. The words are in my journal http://www.templeofthejediorder.org/forum/47-Journals/96828-brenna-s-journal?start=20#101569

Me? I'm pretty much dumb as a rock half the time. I say that because being humble is better than being cockie.

If you think too much of yourself you're right, you're thinking too much of yourself and something will come along to level that out.

There is so much we don't know (and never will) and to think you know it all just demonstrates how finite your thinking is.

Good ole Fairy Tail, eh Connor? ;)

As for my signature, it comes from Confucius, a Chinese scholar and philosopher who I admire very much. Seeing as my Father is a Superintendent of the Peel District School Board near to where I live, I have taken inspiration from both him and Confucius and my signature therefore reflects my love of learning. My passion for education and finding the messages, answering the mysteries and continuing to ponder all are important aspects of my daily life. The Japanese Kanji reads "Soar Upon Wings Of Gold", and serves as a reflection of my love of Japanese culture and my desire to face each day with a soaring, golden smile and a heart of courage regardless of what educational or social roadblock to be found on any random day.

As to the methods of learning outlined, a threefold balance seemed best and to find a quote that captured that suited my views well :p

In case anyone cares, Lorian is a name I use for most Star Wars related gaming I partake in and also serves as a character name in a set of small novellas, therefore I decided to used it instead of my legal name, Stephen (as everyone pronounces it Stefan instead of Steven...pet peeve of mine, but hey :p)

Volia my reasoning for the signature choice :p

May the Force be with you all, my friends :D

Mine used to be longer and contained quotes of philosophical significance from various sources, and I would change them from time to time...however, now there is a limit on character count and I have to omit them...so currently mine only shows useful info about my totjo presence....

By the way, I recognized the goku quote immediately after you joined...you should read "journey to the west" it's the source for much of dbz....Ihave the whole series from dragonball to dbz to dbgt....not touching dbkai though.....currently I'm into naruto (which was heavily influenced by dbz) and bleach

I've changed my signature a million times over the years, but I like the one I have now more than any other I've had. People tend to misinterpret it in light of my personal behavior because of how quiet I am, sometimes thinking that I'm quiet because of the philosophy, but it's quite the opposite. I've been quiet all my life, so the quote from Lao Tzu just makes me feel like it's okay to be that way.

My screen name is the first name of the jedi name creator engine I discovered over 12 years ago. The Last name was Ratuus, but I dropped it after the insane level of rodent jokes I received. My quote is a reminder not to be taken over by the world around you.

Mines is Darwin, and I like it because I think it has a great truth to it, especially right now in the UK with the way the government has decided to run the country, it almost seems like they are attacking the lower classes, so yeah.. Darwin... in my humble opinion a brilliant mind.
