    Bright suns!

My journey started while I was taking a chaplaincy course and learned about different types of chaplains’ ministries. One of the sessions was led by a prison chaplain. In this session, I learned that Jedi chaplains exist. This intrigued me. I immediately wanted to learn more about Jediism. I’ve only known about the Jedi from the Star Wars movies and YouTube videos from Disneyland. Jediism is recognized as a religion by the DOD. Wow! I wonder how many Jedi are actually serving in prisons as chaplains. How many in the military, fire departments, law enforcement, etc.

Having grown up in a Christian church, The Force for me has always been a representation of God. When I look at the Jedi Believe, I see everything that I already believe in. An example that comes to mind right away is where it says in 2 Corinthians 12, “in my weakness and [God] is strong.” Just like God’s power gives me strength in areas where I am weak, The Force enables me to do things that I couldn’t do on my own.

I’ve had many spiritual experiences in my life, I have prayed for people who got healed or learned to hear and speak in the Spirit. When I saw Obi Wan say, “there is a disturbance in The Force,” in the movie I thought to myself, I have experienced this. I can recognize feelings or emotions in the air that are not my own and shift them. I suppose people who are well versed in The Force can do this too. I’ve decided to pursue Jediism because so much of my life and belief system is already aligned with it. But there’s always room for improvement and I never want to stop improving.
