The Beauty of Mind Block
by Aqua
How do we use our mind towards a solution, how do we find our mind when it refuses to cooperate with us? In this sermon I would like to discuss our path of creation, specifically how we can find our inspiration when we ‘lose’ it. Going through a period of mind block is difficult and maybe scary, but it does have a beautiful side too.
Sometimes we find ourselves in a state of confusion, a state of thoughts running over our backs into our heads, shaking us from the inside out and wanting to leave interaction behind us for a while. Sometimes we want to write but we refuse to let it happen. Then we start to think again, and again… and again. Repeating it for a while and then realizing it is happening, and eventually confirming it, even accepting it, and yet it seems like it will never go over again. Are you familiar with this? Have you experienced the questions that are building up within yourself the longer you are in this state without inspiration? Why you are refusing something when you can just grab anything around you? Time to dig a bit deeper into that!
We all experience a mind block from time to time, no matter if we are trying to find a solution, an answer, a way of writing or something else, we all experience it. But should that be the end of the story? Sometimes the simplest of things can create massive changes, a mind block can reset our thoughts to see these simple things better than we can do it ourselves sometimes. Before I started to write out this Sermon I went through proses of thinking, it resulted in ehm… well… a bit of not knowing what I wanted to write if I may call it like that.
A mind block is the beauty of your thoughts expressed through a thoughtless state, I felt so grateful with the experience of being not able to get inspired, and it was sensational. Being able to think is great, but if we find ourselves blocked inside our head it can be great too. It shapes rest and comfort, almost feels like levitating while sitting under a tree, on top of a hill, looking over the busy city, playing an old Chinese string instrument…
[Take this comfort to yourself for a moment]
When you take yourself wherever you go, even if it is not known, you feel you will be there. And as the world fades out as in a meditation trance, and all inspiration dries up, try to embrace it, even when you feel angry or afraid that you lose your inspiration. After a while, turn back. Take enough rest, try it again. Mind blocks gives you that what you cannot give to yourself, a moment without inspiration. It is valuable! A mind block is useful and could be seen like an automatic meditation modus, or even better, like a Matrix loading screen for your inspiration; sometimes creativity finds itself in the most unrealistic circumstances. And it is up to us to take the blue or the red pill.
If we want inspiration, we need to rest from time to time. Like a kangaroo needs to use it legs to build up power before it can jump, we need rest before we can think and create ideas. A few days ago I was sitting in the train, and was looking outside the window to fields of grass. As soon as I focused on one part of the window, the fields of grass started to blur out and became one big line of green. Slowly I started to relax. Drifting off into a meditation like state of thoughts. When I removed the focus to a seat in front of me, everything was sharp again. And I felt rested out a little bit.
We can do this with our mind on free will. You have the power to charge yourself up at any moment. Choose a memory and let it fade out while you start to meditate. Create a blur from your memory and open yourself up to the feelings that it releases; embrace it without thinking too much. Embrace the happy feelings and comfort in these small moments of memory blur. As we open our eyes again, and have taken a breather, try it again but slightly longer than the first time. Make a moment of rest from your small meditations, and try to keep it with you after the meditation, every time a bit longer.

With a little bit of practice and rest, our mind can be recharged, similar as reloading a battery of a phone, or loading yourself into the Matrix. Relaxing your mind is an art to practice every day. For people who enjoy meditation, it can be practiced everywhere as long as you use the proper style for it. Meditation can be used when walking, dancing, eating, or sleeping or simply talking with someone.
Meditation can come in all kinds of ways; the best way is your own way. Start to explore, and try things out. Do not be afraid to combine forms of meditation, use a bed or chair if it feels more comfortable, go out to a beach and have a walk. Or enjoy the desert warmth if you live near a desert. Explore and enjoy your surroundings and meditation will come naturally.
May the Force shine with you all,
