george lucas and jediism was created by
i have have read a number of articals of george lucas suing many people who beliefs are from jediism, because the term jedi and the force are copywrited. how can we spread this religion to other people when we have the fear of being sued by the person who gave this belief system a name. i want someone to eventually make an official church of jediism(appeartnly there is one in the uk) and also more people in the uk registered as jedi then scientologist. i think its about time that this belief system becomes mainstream, many people could benefit from this like myself. but once again there is the fear of being sued

Don't even try fighting with George Lucas. Let him talk what he likes. He's a very dangerous enemy. I understand why he doesn't believe in Jediism- he invented it himself- but we believe in the system, how it works, and not in the film Jediism. We don't worship Yoda or stuff, just try to live the life a Jedi should live.

I'd very much like to see some of those articles. I've heard of people saying they read them but have yet to see one or see an actual case. The Force cannot be trademarked since it is a common term like The Force of Nature or The Force of Gravity. Jedi is a trademark but there is a band named Jedi Mind Tricks with several CD's for sale.
Mr. Lucas is aware of us and has been for some time. We are a church and protected by the First Amendment which trumps any trademark.
You have nothing to worry about.
A lawsuit against us would only succeed in getting us millions of dollars of free publicity, free representation by the finest law firms so they'd get in on the publicity and support from churches and First Amendment rights groups everywhere. Lucas would loose.
We should only be that lucky.

i have just recently discovered jediism and frankly i believe it is the best way that i can think of. the good aspects of every religion compiled into one! no guilt no anything. i just wish people would see us as a real religion. i have heard numerous universal churches that have jedi groups, but not an official jedi religion website, so far this is the closest i have come to an official website. i think its great this organization got notices by the state of texas i think its time we take it to other states and countries
just my opinion
i think i have finaly found my path to take....

We are considered as real as the Catholic Church, the Baptist Church etc all over the entire United States not just in Texas. In other countries that's a different matter.

the thing i think we aren't realizing is George Lucas is just a guy. He is average, down to earth. He is also VERY smart, in movie maing, writing, producing, and merchandising.
people act as if he's some sue happy vulture looking for people saying the word jedi. He's not! his people are interested in defending his creation, and he has evey right. if people make tons of money off star wars without telling him; then yeah they are taking money away from his family. I'd sue them into oblivion if it were me. And how many suites have there really been?
from where we're concerned what the heck profit do we make?!?!?! if anyone here made one penny from being a jedi than your doing it wrong. lol besides we are harmless people using his ideas to be good to one another.
from EVERY interview, every actor, every one who's ever met him he's nice as can be. Remember this is the guy who wanted the Family guy and Robot chicken to make fun of Star Wars... if that isn't someone cool- who is?
he knows we exist and is flattered i'm sure (jedi is his brain child), but i think that would be the extent.
